Location was very good. Room was nice.
Design of room. Very little storage space. Same with bathroom - no shelving for wash things etc.

Couldn't really find anything to fault. The only thing if I'm being picky is, if you like a night cap the hotel bar wasn't the best.
Everything in the room was excellent, except the bed pillows were lumpy and cheap feeling. The toilet seat was in poor condition with 3 missing rubber supports.

This is a good hotel. It’s in a very central location, in an interesting, old building. It’s been converted to a very high standard with a good interior design and top quality fittings. The staff are friendly and there are some nice touches such as the port and chocolate tarts in the hotel room.
The rooms are misrepresented in their marketing, both on their website and on Booking.com. We upgraded to a Aliados view room as they are shown as large, light rooms with triple windows. Our room was small, dark and only had one window right in the corner. When we complained and showed the staff the difference between what was advertised and what we received, we were told the photos were indicative only, that there is only one of those triple window rooms on each floor and we paid for the view not the room. They replied so quickly and off pat that I’m pretty sure we weren’t the first to complain. Don’t waste money on these rooms, the view is only of a wide street and you’d have to be standing right in the corner to see it.
The breakfast is okay but half of the breakfast room is very dark as it’s under the stairs to the bar. The bar and restaurant are at the back of the hotel. We only discovered the restaurant was there on the last night.

Desde a chegada ao hotel, foi amor à primeira vista: com uma linda decoração logo na entrada e uma excelente recepção por absolutamente todos os funcionários, em especial o Paulo (uma simpatia!), que ajudou-nos com as malas e acompanhou-nos até o quarto, onde explicou nos mínimos detalhes tudo o que havia no quarto.
O quarto era absolutamente perfeito: muitas tomadas, cama e travesseiros super confortáveis, daqueles que abraçam você e fazem você querer ficar o dia todo no hotel; tamanho excelente, com um segundo ambiente onde ficava o guarda-roupas super bem dividido e também tinha uma boa mesa com cadeira, um sofá muito confortável, uma segunda TV, pia e cafeteira. A decoração é linda e aconchegante.
Entre os dois ambientes, fica o banheiro, com duas pias, banheira e chuveiro separados, espelho bem grande na área das pias, espelho auxiliar de maquiagem com iluminação e espelho de corpo inteiro na porta. Iluminação para todos os gostos, podendo ficar leve ou bem forte a depender do conjunto de luzes que você acenda. Iluminação excelente para maquiagem. Vazão e temperatura de água no chuveiro excelentes.
Há uma porta separando o ambiente da cama do resto do quarto -banheiro e a parte do sofá, guarda-roupas...- o que melhora a privacidade e evita atrapalhar o sono de quem dorme enquanto o outro toma banho, arruma-se ou deseja fazer outra coisa qualquer.
O corredor no caminho para o quarto também tem uma decoração muito agradável e estava sempre perfumado com um cheiro muito, muito acolhedor.
O café da manhã não tem uma grande variedade de opções e foi praticamente o mesmo todos os dias; porém, absolutamente tudo era de excelente qualidade e extremamente saboroso. O horário vai até 11h, muito bom para quem gosta de dormir um pouquinho mais.
A única coisa que não gostei foi ter que ir embora,
CONTINUAÇAO DO QUE GOSTEI:
A localização é maravilhosa: fica em uma das praças que é ponto turístico da cidade e perto de todos os principais pontos turísticos, sendo possível fazer tudo a pé. Muitas lojas e muitos restaurantes nas proximidades. E, caso seja necessário, há uma estação de metrô na porta. Para quem deseja ir a Aveiro, Braga ou Guimarães, a Estação de Trem (Comboios) São Bento, fica a poucos passos do hotel.
Não utilizamos a piscina, mas fomos conhecer: ambiente agradável, bom tamanho de piscina e temperatura da água perfeita para a época do ano (primavera).
