Fine for a night
Pros:

Basic accomodation in the B and B. No frills but fine for a stay on the trek on the South Downs
Right on the path so perfect location.

Cons:

Pretty isolated for food options, there is a dining area which would have benefited from cooking facilities, if only a microwave.

Glad the night was over fast
Pros:

Easy location as I’m walking the trail.

Cons:

So freaking miserably hot in the room. It was a heat emergency and the window barely opens. Like I could barely fit a hand in the opening. It was the ground floor and a low window…why the F** was the window bolted???!!! That’s a safety hazard and health emergency. Also when you search for the location, it only marks the hostel. I couldn’t see anywhere notes that there’s 2 different entrances. After a long hot day walking 18mi you don’t want to be walking around and around a building!!

Comfy, cosy and excellent facilities
Pros:

Spotlessly clean, comfortable, well-equipped, everything you could need. Nice breakfast, excellent coffee! Gorgeous site.

Cons:

The doors are really loud so you're awake with the first people up - which is early!

Clean, comfortable stop on the South Downs Way.
Pros:

Good communication pre-visit. Rooms were clean, comfortable and thoughtfully laid out. Staff were friendly and kind. The ethos of the centre is one we support.

Cons:

We walked from Winchester and approached the building from that direction arriving at the back of the building. There was no signage to confirm that we were in the right place on the approach or on the back of the building. It was pouring down and it would have helped to know we were in the right place. It’s a minor thing however and easily remedied.

Pros:

Location is great for South Downs Way, and you can see a beautiful sunset.

Cons:

Hostel area is noisy with slamming doors. When I booked on Booking.com it said breakfast was included, but the staff said it was a mistake. They let me have the breakfast but kept on asking me to show them where it was written on the site.
