No TV, no kettle, drain smell in bathroom

No estaba lo suficientemente limpia, había pelos y polvo encima de las mesitas de noche, del papel higiénico y de la mesa. Las persianas se bajaban muy mal y casi no bajaban. Le hacen falta unas lámparas en la mesita de noche y en el escritorio, había que tener todas las luces encendidas porque solo encendían las del techo. Faltan más cojines en la cama.
No parecía un hotel de 4 estrellas, más bien de 3.

Das Fenster im Zimmer war nur an der Decke und man hatte kein Gefühl dafür, welche Tageszeit ist. Außerdem war das Licht im Zimmer nicht warm, sondern eher kalt (wie im Krankenhaus)

Wij stonden voor de deur en hadden nog geen mail gehad om online in te kunnen checken (ruim na 15.00 uur maar voor 20.00 uur). Dus hebben wij gebeld maar er werd niet opengedaan. Wij hebben staan wachten tot er andere gasten naar buiten kwamen. Dame achter de receptie reageerde niet op onze vraag waarom zij niet open deed. De kamer was heel erg warm en wij konden geen raam opendoen. Wij kregen de online sleutel pas bij het fysiek inchecken.

Had geen toegang tot de on line check in. Heb bericht gestuurd en telefonisch contact opgenomen per telefoon maar geen reactie. Had dus geen andere keuze dan naar een ander hotel te gaan. Ik voerder dus het hele bedrag dat ik betaald heb voor the Velvet Lodge terug. Leuk idee maar het werkt in de praktijk niet.

De communicatie was echt niet goed. Ik krijg pas 17.44 mijn on line l

The check in at 3 was delayed because our room was not cleaned. We arrived early, no staff present. We didn't feel comfortable leaving our bags in the open hall. At 3, the staff arrived and checked us in. Our room was not fully cleaned with beds unmade and a dirty bathroom. She was very sweet and apologetic, offered us a hot beverage and another room. The room smelled like tobacco, she was able to get the housekeeping back to clean the room we had originally booked. An hour later we had a nice room, she offered a discount for the trouble. Also worth mentioning, when the tub drains you can smell the sewer, and here it clicking in the sink. On check out I asked if we could have some coffee. I would have been willing to pay for the coffee but a different girl didnt seem to want to offer anything exept the excuse that it was broken. If you prefer hotel service with an open front desk, coffee and beverages, you might book the hotel next door, otherwise if you want to be left alone and location is everything, this may work for you. I hate to be critical but having worked in the service/hotel industry, this was comfortable enough but lacking on service.
