Really cool design of the building and the rooms. Sleeping felt cozy and safe while being airy and feeling like you're sleeping outside. Friendly staff and delicious breakfast!
Roosters start early and there's no sound insulation - prepare to hear everything happening outside. No noise issue with the neighbours but the roosters were loud!
No one present at desk, noisy neighbourhood. Late serving breakfast. I broke a glass and reported it. They charged 100 pesos or $7 cad for something worth 10.
The comfort of the bed was good. Can't walk around the bed. Room was cloth walls so very, very cold. No extra blankets. Would never go back.
No breakfast on Sunday.
Had to call taxi for Emergency. Couldn't get out of room as lock was stuck. Owner said she was sorry but lock was broken previous. I had to throw keys through hole in wall so night clerk could open from outside. When Safety is issue I am not impressed.
Excellent Costumer service
This was an experience. We were drawn to the modern Japanese aesthetic and upon arrival it did not disappoint. It is such a beautiful piece of art. There is the element of being one with nature (open air concept) that was very calming and unique. When staying here one should be aware that you are part of the neighborhood/village and so the normal sounds that one would normally hear are present. That wasn’t something that bothered us though. The beach, shops, and restaurants were a close walk away. The service was top tier and the breakfast was a nice touch. We loved San Pancho and this hotel was perfect for our party.
Not much. Looked interesting at first blush but terrible in execution. Open air in many places (by design), snd in a completely wrong country/neighbourhood for such.
Way too much street noise (dogs, children, roosters, vehicles, screaming announcements, etc) not to mention open burning.
Advertised a b’fast but that was a farce. Very uncomfortable in that you only get a bed in a sliding door room - no place to properly sit and relax in your room and communal spaces were not great either.
Even with earplugs it was exceedingly loud and bugs could penetrate your space (sand flies, mosquitoes, etc).
This place was incredible! I loved the concept of an open-air design giving it a smooth connection to nature. The overall aesthetic had a modern Japanese feel with plenty of natural elements that created an inviting environment . The hospitality was outstanding everyone was so welcoming. Plus, its location is perfect just a short walk to the beach while still maintaining that small town community vibe. I’d definitely stay here again!
The staff who work at the facility were wonderful. And it’s very pretty, however the room is very uncomfortable. It’s hard to conceptualize until you are in the rooms, but they are simply two narrow hallways-L shaped and then a bed with sliding doors that you have to crawl into -there is nowhere to sit save a tiny dining set, but it’s not a comfortable room.
If you’re 20, it would be a really neat concept however, further along my life, I would prefer a little more comfort.
if you need quiet at night, this is not the place. It’s typical Mexican town so at night you’re hearing a lot of chickens, dogs and motorcycles, etc. The rooms don’t have actual walls. They are glass tiles and windows. The bed has fabric sliding doors. So you are out there in the town.
Unusual, like camping with the sound of dogs and chickens
The noise at night (ie dogs barking, rooster crowing), shower water was cold and smaller than expected
I really liked the design and thought behind this place however…
A HUGE downside is the noise. I had booked 3 nights here, and could only handle 2; being woken up at 3am to the beginning of constant and loud roosters crowing and dogs barking. I sleep with ear plugs and it didn’t help. The second night I tried white noise on my phone and that couldn’t mask the sound either. My boyfriend isn’t a light sleeper, yet he laid awake from 3am onward as well.
We ended up leaving after the second night. They denied our request for a refund for the last night.
The breakfast was a nice touch. The room is very unique and cool. I think the open air concept is interesting, however unfortunately given the surroundings; perhaps not ideal. All this being said, and despite my disappointment in them not allowing a refund…if you’re a heavy sleeper or a VERY early riser - this hotel is nice.
San Pancho is great - I was sad it was my first time there and had to cut it short.
Great atmosphere and friendly staff, we had everything we needed to have a pleasant stay.
The neighborhood was noisy at night, we couldn’t have a proper sleep because of all the roosters crowing and dogs barking :(.
This property was so cute and peaceful. A very quiet street. While all of San Pancho is very walkable, this property is over a large hill that you have to try, but if you don't mind that, its a great location. The room was a little tight for unpacking and getting into my suitcase but overall comfortable.
