The room we had was nothing like the picture that we had reserved. It was a lot smaller than the original picture. They also had a policy that you cannot check in to until 1500 hrs. even if you are early and the room is available. There was an elevator available to be used but no sighs indicating as to where it was, thus we had to carry our luggage up and down several chairs. The elevator was found by accident on the ground floor and it would have been very helpful at the time of check in. The kitchen was on not really suitable for use. With only two medium sized plates, bowls and two sets of kfs. There were 2 coffee cups but there was no kettle to make coffee or a toaster. Eventually we did get a kettle and toaster though. Since there were only two hot plates there was a frying pan and large pot. Don't how the hotel staff thought how we could actually use the kitchen but we did. There also was not microwave. When you are out touring the area every day, it would have been nice to be able to make something quick for dinner. The hotel was clean and the cleaning staff were helpful. The best part about the hotel was its location to the transportation hub which was on 9 minutes away. It was conveniently located for touring the city.
Enjoyed our corner room with great views. Great location!
Clean modern rooms in a great area in old town. Everything worked well. We loved the layout, almost felt designed by escher with the up and down hallways.
Bed was huge and comfortable, kitchenette and bathroom/shower worked great.
We're glad we stayed at the LUBO.
Room was not well equipped- kitchenette had minimal equipment. Couldn’t make coffee unless you bought instant coffee and heated water in a pan- no microwave, few silverware. Staff was not responsive as there is no front desk. Location is very convenient. Cooling system made a vibrating noise.
The sheets are covered with a lot of hair, there are blood stains underneath, disgusting!
Great
.
I recently stayed at this hotel and there were definitely some strong positives. The location was fantastic, making it super convenient to get around. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and there was a really nice café on the bottom floor that added a great touch to the overall experience.
The only downside was the room size. The rooms were very, very small, to the point where there wasn’t really anywhere to put luggage comfortably. So while it's a great spot with wonderful staff, just be aware that the space is a bit tight.
LUBO Staff and Coffee House Girls were outstanding - The Parking was difficult with a 5KM walk off site!
Located in the very center of the old town pretty much every part of the city is in walking distance. The hotel is nice and the rooms are ok. Not too fancy, the furniture has had a few spots and scratches but in general the room was clean. Over all I would say it’s just too expensive. Something one could say about the whole city
A poorly designed air conditioning system had a condensate pump clicking very loudly every minute or two - which kept us awake for most of the trip.
The location of this hotel is the main selling point
Website was down and we got locked out of our room. The rooms are noisy, you can hear everyone leaving and entering the hotel. The pillows and air conditioning leave a lot to be desired.
I am always skeptical about "self-service" hotel, and this stay at Lubo confirmed it.
It was wrong right from the start:
1.) the self check-in does not work, and I am forced to pay and make an international call to help desk to fix.
2.) the lighting in the room does not work, and I am told by the cleaning lady that no one will fix lighting till after the weekend (by then I woudl have checked out)
3.) the air-condioner makes noise every once and a while throughout the night, and of course no one can help;
4.) there is just no one you can contact to get any issues fixed
it's definitey worse experience than some youth hostel we stayed in, and the latter is a lot cheaper.
we like the accessibility to the power, the economical use of space and the laundry was easy to use. however, check-in would have been easier if we have the reservation number handy or received through email which I didn't. all else was great.
Overall this is a good place to stay, though the en-suite shower was tiny and the digital keys you use to unlock the main doors and your room are on a browser, so if your phone dies or you can’t connect to the WiFi you would have a problem (though the hotel has its own WiFi so this shouldn’t be a problem unless power goes out).
I did not like the check in process, it was not as easy as it should.
All others, was amazing!. I would go back again to this place.
The staff was great although they didn’t have enough knowledge about transportation or places of interest. Carpet was extremely all throughout the hotel. The lighting in the room was too strong and in one’s face. One usb outlet didn’t work. The iron board was too dented and the iron was cracked and chipped off at the tip that it could rip your clothes. Not enough towels because they don’t dry quick enough after a shower.
The Lubo is located in a very happening part of town. Charming squares, tons of restaurants and bars were footsteps away. The famous wooden bridge was a short walk and so was the promenade along the river. Lucerne main station is walkable, but be aware of the cobbled streets which make dragging trolley bags and strollers with small wheels difficult. Room was compact and fun with a queen size bed and two top bunks. Only complaint is that the AC was not very effective. We set it at 19 degrees C but the room wasn’t cooling at all which meant we were sweating all night. However we found that this is pretty common across Switzerland and we have been told across Europe. Definitely recommend staying here, we found it more cost efficient than other hotels in the area. The breakfast in the hotel cafe was yummy. Make sure you cross check the reservation number before you reach. The two numbers Expedia provided did not work so we had to call and get the right number.
Location is perfect , easy check in and out
