My reservation was for a double queen suite with an additional living room with a sleeper sofa. All the double queen suites were given away and I only received a double queen room. This doesn't make sense as my reservation was made over a month ago. Why was my room not saved? They shouldn't have given away my room. They said since I didn't book thru the hotel and with a 3rd party, they could not give me anything to compensate. This is bad customer service and bad business.
This was a very disturbing and unacceptable experience.
The check-out time was clearly stated as 11:00 AM. At around 10:00 AM, I set an alarm to take a short nap because I had a long drive ahead. At approximately 10:15 AM, a housekeeping staff member entered my room without knocking or permission.
At the time, I was asleep and not fully dressed. I initially thought that once she saw the room was occupied, she would leave. However, instead of leaving, she pointed at me and loudly asked, “When are you leaving?”
This made me feel extremely uncomfortable and violated my privacy. After being startled awake in that situation, I was unable to go back to sleep, which left me very tired for my long drive.
When I reported this issue to the front desk, they did not apologize or take responsibility. Instead, they tried to explain that it was not their fault because they had not informed housekeeping about my check-out. This response was unacceptable and only added to my frustration.
Entering an occupied room without knocking—especially before check-out time—is a serious violation of guest privacy and basic hotel standards. The lack of accountability from the staff made the experience even worse.
