Probably the coolest place with the best hotel room view I’ve ever stayed in. You go to sleep and wake up looking at the volcano- it’s almost surreal. It is located adjacent to Mistico Park, so take advantage of that and go to the park at opening time- you won’t regret getting up early for that privacy.
The drive is windy and at times rugged, so get a good SUV, buckle up, and be patient. It is WELL worth it!

We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at Sangregado. Larry was so helpful getting us settled in with a welcome drink and making bookings for our activities. Muchas gracias Larry.
The view is unbeatable. It was magical to wake up to the sunrise behind the volcano. Not only does the villa have a view, the shower too! I would not hesitate to book again. The location is fantastic if you plan to do the Mystico hanging bridges. They are directly in front, a 2 minute walk.
There is no restaurant on the site. Sangregado contacted us in advance to let us know the options were the restaurant at the Mystico hanging bridges or at the resort below (The Blue Hisbiscus restaurant at the Lost Iguana resort). We thought it was neat to see another resort and the breakfast and dinner we had there was very nice. They treated us like guests of their own resort.
All in all a fantastic stay that I hugely recommend.
A little bit of construction when we arrived but it stopped shortly after. I fully understand why they are trying to expand this gem of a spot.
Une véritable immersion dans la nature, à deux pas du parc. Le lodge offre de grands espaces et un niveau de confort très appréciable, idéal pour se détendre en pleine tranquillité.
Le restaurant n’est accessible en voiture qu’à environ 600 m, ce qui peut être peu pratique pour le petit déjeuner. La machine à laver et le sèche‑linge étaient malheureusement en panne lors de notre séjour, mais pour le reste, tout s’est très bien passé.
Chambre formidable, spacieuse, vue magnifique, lit super , personnel agréable et accueillant . Très bon petit déjeuner et dîner du soir mais un peu cher

The view, the service, the sounds of the rainforest.
Amazing location just a few metres from the entrance to the Mistico Bridges, gorgeous private lodges with an amazing view and incredibly helpful and friendly staff (I really can't praise them enough - they made our stay really special). As others have mentioned, the breakfast buffet is presented at a hotel about 700m (not really walkable) away. There is a shuttle and it's obviously no problem at all if you have your own car and WHAT A BREAKFAST!!! Situated in a charming restaurant with open sides so that you can admire the beautiful grounds and watch the wildlife, the variety and quality of the food is excellent. We booked a night walk at reception which took place around the lodge site and had a really interesting and enjoyable time with our guide Bernardo. I would totally recommend a stay here but only if you have a car. The lodges are inside the Mistico Park where, apart from the Iguana Resort (where breakfast is held) there is nothing but nature. The drive to La Fortuna is around 25 minutes.

La superbe vue de la terrasse, le confort des lits et la grande douche.
Aucune restauration SUR PLACE, contrairement à ce qui est écrit sur Booking. Ce n'est pas un hôtel. Pour le petit-déjeuner il faut prendre la voiture (ou la navette à 8h) qui vous mène au restaurant situé plus bas ! Compte tenu de l'absence de restauration, il pourrait y avoir un mini coin cuisine pour dépanner mais ce n'est helas pas le cas. Pour manger il faut donc se rendre au restau plus bas ou rouler 3O mns jusqu'à la Fortuna. Pas pratique du tout. Si on l'avait su à la résa, on n'aurait pas choisi cet hébergement car ce fut trop contraignant. Il n'y a pas non plus d'espace convivial pour passer du temps. Lorsqu'il pleut beaucoup, ce qui arrive souvent quand même, vous êtes coincé dans la chambre. Enfin, il y a des travaux sur le site donc le bruit de la perceuse dès 7h30, ça gâche le plaisir de profiter de la vue . À 240$ la nuit, le rapport prestations/prix n'est pas satisfaisant. Je ne recommande pas.
Unser Aufenthalt in der Sangregado Lodge war fantastisch! Wunderschöne Lage mitten in der Natur, sehr saubere und komfortable Zimmer und ein traumhafter Blick auf den Regenwald. Das Personal war unglaublich freundlich und hilfsbereit, und das Frühstück war frisch und lecker. Ein perfekter Ort, um La Fortuna zu genießen – wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen!
Das Einzige, was uns etwas gestört hat, war eine Baustelle auf dem Gelände, da neue Villen gebaut werden. Dadurch gab es zeitweise etwas Baulärm. Insgesamt hat das unseren Aufenthalt aber nur wenig beeinträchtigt.
Emplacement en pleine nature avec vu et chambre parfaite bien équipée , parking gratuit privé. On peux se rendre a pieds en moins de 2 min au mistiko park idéal donc pour y être a l’ouverture
Travaux au matin et jusqu’à 17h00 pour la construction de plusieurs autres villa. Travaux malheureusement très bruyant qui gâche le cadre avec la nature. Et pour le prix payé …
