Lumina Boutique Hotel

The hotel is right in the middle of the European side of Istanbul. There are a lot of tourist sights within walking (around 20 min) distance (The Topkapi Palace, Gülhane Park, some great dining options and about four mosques among which the Hagia Sophia). If you don't mind the traffic noise at night or in the morning, this is a great option.

The hotel staff is very attentative. Towards the end of our stay we pointed out that the airconditioning didn't seem to work. The staff told us that is was actually the remote that didn't work, but that we could use the button on the airconditioning itself to turn it on. Fine by us. When we came back to our room that night, there was a new remote control in the room that did work. We didn't ask for a new remote nor did he mention this, but it was a nice surprise, and shows they care about their customers' comfort.

Gut sehr gut

The thing is that the staff said this hotel was full and they were going to take me to another hotel nearby, we were arriving at midnight and the surroundings were very odd, specially for the second property. I think they would have to inform in advance so that you don’t think they are going to kidnap you or something… or simply don’t accept check in at those hours

The hotel itself is located in a very strategic location: near the crossing from the old European side (south) towards the newer European side (north). Thus, public transportation is available within walking distance. Staff (doorman) spoke some English, but not very fluently. Offered a WahstApp number to communicate for any issues, which was convenient. Also responded quickly to a request for a third set of towels. But that is the full extent of it.

Although the room was reserved for three, only two sets of towels was ready in the room. Additionally, the beds had no sheets, but only matress covers and comforters. So the only thing to cover yourself at night during sleep was the comforter itself. These, which were stored inside the wardrobe, were not very clean, displaying some older stains (some dark brown, suggesting either food stains or blood). A safety issue erupted only minutes after entering the room when one of my friends went to the bathroom and cut a finder with the metal slat which is supposed to cover the toilet paper roll. The ends of this metal slat were not only visibly rusted but also sharp as hell. Perhaps the most serious issue was the unbearable sewage smell that filled the room after 6 pm. We quickly discovered this came from the pipe drain located on the bathroom floor near the toilet bowl seat. It was so strong that we had to cover it with some toilet paper and secure it with the small trash bin on top.

War von innen sauber und renoviert. Eingangstür geht mit einem Code auf. Kaffe, Tee und Wasser gibt es durchgehend umsonst dazu. Für den Preis sehr gut sehr gute Lage. Nach Taksim mit dem Zug zwei Minuten und zu Fuß nach Eminönü 10min

The person at the reception desk (Lokman) was very nice. He recommended us some sightseeing places and outside-breakfast places cause we didn’t book the breakfast in the hotel. We really enjoyed our first stay in Istanbul thanks to him.
The room looked the same as saw on the pictures when booking. There was a nice terrace on the rooftop.

the hotel is in a good location with walking distance from the grand bazar, public transit and a few bridges however the back streets are not friendly in night time.
the front street is a main road and there is no noise isolation so you hear everything going on day and night, across the main road there is a mosque and the call for prayer in the middle of the night is very laud.
we had a queen bed and a twin bed in the room but only one blanket that was dirty. we asked for it to be replace and for them to give us another one, the new ones were clean but very rough.
the sheets were not very clean and when I asked for another one they were unable to provide it.
water pressure in the shower was ok but sometime we ran out of hot water.
I was expecting more this is priced like a hotel but feels like a youth hostel.
the roof terrace is nice but the view to the water is now a worksite.

Staff was very nice

Otel lokasyon olarak iyi bir yerde, özellikle topkapı sarayı ve etrafını gezmek için burayı seçtik. Otel personeli gayet güleryüzlü ve çözüm odaklıydı. Benim için en önemli özellik hijyendi, odamız gayet temiz ve düzenliydi. Konaklamada eksik gördüğüm tek şey odalara su ikramı bulunmaması. Onun dışında biz çok memnun kaldık, işletme sahibine ve personele teşekkür ederiz.

Die Lage war top! Metro ist in der nähe die busstationen sind in der nähe, Sehenswürdigkeiten sind in der nähe!

- Hotelzimmer ist sehr schmutzig überall haare im bett im bad! Die Straßen sind unsicher komische typen unterwegs. Tv-Sendungen waren nicht eingestellt.

Also: Die Mitarbeiter sind Nett hilfsbereit aber das Hotel ist sehr schlecht..

They were super friendly and super service and everything worked at the hotel and the view was perfect by the golden horn and they had all time accesible terrace where u could have fun time drinking or eating ..

Everything was good. Only window was not there to see the view of outside.

Nice stay, good location, good room size, nice bathroom, really helpful receptionist or manager, but they can improve a little bit the cleaning (dusty and bed linen have some marks)

Staff was friendly. the room was so small you hardly can just feed your suitcases to close the door. There is no king size bed even though in the ad there is.
Long black hair in the bedding,
Mold in the bathroom ceiling. The sewer in the shower clogged you have to wait 15 minutes until the water going out. Disappointed

Very clean, professional staff, loqman really looked after us, we spent 5 days there and we enjoyed our stay

It was excellent

A very good location. Very clean. Rooms attended, cleaned every day. My room was very nice, specious. Nice terrace to the top of the hotel. Attentive staff, always available. Highly recommended, pleasant and well looked after hotel.
I would only advised softer sheets and mattress cover however it didn’t affected my stay.

Hotel attendant was outstanding, very friendly and helpful. View from the terrace was spectacular. Hotel was a little bit difficult to locate late at night as it only has a small entrance from the alleyway, but other than that everything was excellent . Many cheap good food options just beyond the hotel, and very easy and convenient to flag a cab just in front of the hotel
