No tv in rooms all furniture is old have to watch tv in 1 certain room it was a senior citizens housing at one time and was worse hotel I ever stayed in and well overpriced would not recommend to anyone
We loved the the location and the laid back atmosphere.
Kind of a weird place but clean and closest place we could find to Bethel Woods. Former nursing home converted to hotel. Potential for some paranormal activity! Overpriced rooms were clean and vintage mid century. Self check-in and check-out. No staffing or staff services to even comment about since there were none. Nice fire pit complete with “s’mores”” was available. Very quaint little town of Narrowsburg was 5 minutes away across a bridge with a great breakfast and lunch restaurant.
We came to the area for a concert @ Bethel Woods which is a 20 minute drive. The Darby was a nice find, very clean, very comfortable beds and linens which is key. The room was small but well designed. They have some nice amenities such as a bar, game room, outdoor area with fire pit and chairs. The next morning we walked across the bridge to New York State and a great coffee shop, that was 900’ feet from The Darby. Recommended!
The property was fine. The problem was Expedia! The hotel had no record of our reservation despite Expedia’s confirmation and we weren’t the only people who had this problem. We reserved two rooms but there was only one room left and it was a queen vs the king that we had reserved. Fortunately the manager went out of his way to accommodate us and allowed us to rent an apartment on the premises that normally isn’t rented. We tried to contact Expedia but got no response. I will never use Expedia again.
This hotel is expensive for what you get. Rooms are very small; no tv in your room; what they call a ‘light’ breakfast is really just a couple pieces of fruit and a handful of muffins; walls are very thin; and room was very musty smelling. However, the rooms were nicely decorated in a retro mid-century modern way.
Had a 2 night reservation here and when we showed up after driving 12 hrs they didn’t seem to have our reservation. No front desk clerk or manager was available to talk to us just the bartender who had no clue what was going on. Ended up having to drive another 2 hrs to find a room. Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy!!! Stay somewhere else!!
Stayed after a BethelWoods concert. Property and rooms very clean. Bed was comfortable. Would stay again!
Truly terrible. Room never cleaned, no staff present. Didn’t fix issue with bathroom. Avoid!
Small, nice, clean hotel. Perfect jumping off point for Pocono region. Bridge across to NY State just past the entrance to hotel. Easy walk to dining options and micro brewery. Hotel bar opened at 5 on Saturday.
First I’ll start with the positive. The staff we encountered were nice and helpful, the room was beautiful, the place is exactly as pictured, fun and well appointed.
My biggest complaint is that when we checked in our check-in paperwork said complimentary breakfast and coffee were available in the green room from 8-10am. Well we got dressed and ready for breakfast and there was none. No staff on site, not even any coffee available, and the room was dark. It was really disappointing, especially with no coffee maker in the room or anywhere in the hotel. It was also advertised on the site.
Another issue was that hotels.com said check out was noon but when we arrived we got a text that check out was 11.
That being said, I would stay there again. The room and hotel were really beautiful and location great. But need to clarify the amenities offered so visitors can plan accordingly.
Wonderful people
Small clean hotel, nothing to go out of your way for
Great winter weekend getaway stay at The Darby. Friendly staff, and modest, but, clean rooms. There are a couple of small hiking paths adjacent to the hotel that are perfect for dogs.
The town of Narrowsburg is an easy walk from the hotel and offers a variety of food options, cute shops and a local brewery.
A well-kept, home-like environment with a kind staff and beautiful surroundings. A ver short, scenic walk to downtown Narrowsburg.
The staff is very friendly and took care of things we requested with a smile. The facility is old, but clean and maintained quite well. We enjoyed the Darby fire pit with friends. Located a short walk to Narrowsburg and shopping, food and drink and a cool little brewery!
Observation: lovely quiet location, with beautiful scenery. I will note however if you want to have a quiet getaway notion go during the week, because there are social activities on the weekends.
Liked: Intimate boutique style was nice, the pastry breakfast was convenient. Loved the styling of the decor, with so many places to sit and chat.
Disliked: the pillows were very flat, and the we're a good amount of spiderwebs.
This place a little gem nestled in beautiful forest landscape. The rooms were comfortable and cozy. The hotel had many cozy and confortable seating areas inside and outside. A good basic breakfast and great bar.
The town is walking distance and has many little well curated shops and great. restaurants. Would love to be back.
The staff, specially Leon was amazing
The staff at the Darby were very friendly and helpful. The common areas are very nice and it's great to have a bar to unwind during the evening. However, the reason I am rating this as poor are the rooms. The building has the looks of a renovated retirement home. Consequently, the rooms are very small (perhaps 12ft x 12 ft), air conditioning is provided by a basic and very noisy window air conditioner unit, the room smelled damp throughout the stay, the shower is part of a converted closet, and the walls to the corridor are paper thin (and the bed is placed against the hallway wall), allowing a lot of noise to enter the room. This all contributed to a terrible night's rest. I would definitely not stay here again.
We liked the friendliness of the staff. The hotel is located within walking distance to downtown Narrowsburg. It was also a convenient location to the concert venue we attended. Other than no TV in our room our stay was pleasant. We meet other couples at the hotel that attended the same concert.
