Cheap and cheerful a bit out of town (McLeod Ganj), 1km trip up the mountain road.
Hotel was extremely cold. A heater was provided but with a daily charge.
Views from the room were spectacular
The R R hotel, was In a perfect position for our trip to McLeodgang, been a 10 minute walk into the small center. All male staff were very friendly, and the hotel was clean and comfortable. We were there in march for the cricket, and you’ve got to consider that you are at a very high altitude and it’s a lot cooler. Beds were very comfortable and you got a thick blanket as well. Be advised that there is only a small reservoir of hot water for each bathroom, which we were not notified about, and although the shower was very hot it only lasted about 3mins. We soon learned why the large bucket and water tub was for. Fill the bucket first & use it to wash in the shower area first, then rinse using the shower itself. Paid about £30 per night, and suspect that all the hotels in this price range or lower operate this system for the shower. Internet was in the lobby only and not in the rooms. Breakfast was basic, but nice. We were out for most of the day so the hotel was just what we needed, clean, comfortable bed, and a good location.
Rooms good size but were cold. Hot water in shower lasts about 3 minutes. 10 min walk from centre of mcleodganj. Dont bother paying extra for waterfalls because you cant really see it. Overall decent hotel but lack of hot water and cold rooms let it down. Also very noisey neighbours but not sure if thats just India.
Loved it. Stayed here on recommendation by a friend. Only regret is that I didn’t book it further out. The secret is out about RAM’s. The staff is so kind and helpful. Also, Gave me the best recommendation for the best momo in town. Which is a big thing here. And perhaps the best yoga studio in the area. The view is spectacular from the entire studio roof
