Excellent Place to Stay in Portland!
Pros:

The location is excellent-close to restaurants, stores and the water. The staff were excellent; the room was comfortable and very clean. We ate breakfast each morning, and it was delicious.

Cons:

We liked everything!

Lovely room and location but expect confusing charges on checkout
Pros:

The room was lovely. Reasonable size and nice view over the skyline of Portland. great Location right next to Shipyard Brewery which was one of the reasons we had come to the town and a very short walk from the water and the narrow gauge railways as well as load of food options.
Good shower and extremely comfortable bed. Slept very well.

Cons:

The explanation about costings and what money was taken from us was dodgy and we are still confused about how and why we've been charged.
Car parking was advertised at $30 on all bookings but when we arrived we were told the only option was valet parking at $40.
We were charged a $100 fee for incidentals when we arrived and were told by the member of staff we would get this back 3-5 days after we checked out. When we went to check out we were told we would not be getting this money back as it was being used to cover a tax payment, a food voucher and parking which we had already paid for separately. We explained this and demanded the money be returned and they sent us an itemized bill which was even more confusing than the original explanation. Just felt very shady and manipulative. We are now only getting $55 of our charge back.

Pros:

The staff was amazing from housekeeping to front desk to waiters to waitresses. Love the terrace with the guy playing the guitar

Had to ask for a refill on coffee quite a few times.

Pros:

Lovely facility, great location, excellent bartender and valet service (incredibly quick and friendly). Nice outdoor patio and friendly front desk staff.

Cons:

Breakfast was mediocre at best, and service was slow and awkward. The first day there apparently was only one person working, and he was entirely overwhelmed and decidedly unhappy. The second day the service was good, but the food is definitely the weak point. In addition, the room window was dirty, and the fountain outside was filthy when we arrived. Again, to be fair, the fountain was cleaned out the next morning. Inside the building was clean, but the outdoor maintenance is spotty.

It was overpriced and was not staffed to an adequate level.
Pros:

The room was modern and decent.

Cons:

The check in process took over an hour and they did not have a room ready when I checked in. They made us wait in the lobby over an hour then allowed other people to check in and get their rooms before us as we waited over an hour.

Nice hotel, spacious rooms with a good location.
Pros:

Convenient location and our room was very spacious and nice. Nice large bathroom, Veiw of the port.

Cons:

Valet was necessary to park in that area. While the young man working the valet was very nice and accommodating, we did have to tip him every time we needed our car.
