A good return to an old favourite but slightly disappointing.
Pros:

The Gym and pool were good as was the Breakfast

Cons:

The dinner service in the bar area was exceptionally slow and the staff rather inattentive

Great spa experience in a very nice part of the world.

Romantic stay getaway
Pros:

Was a very nice stay. Staff were friendly and attentive. The young lady at the spa working on the 24th was deserves a mention too. Oh and the steak was so good, with probably one of the best peppercorn sauces. My wife really enjoyed the massage. The indoor outdoor pool was nice and warm. And even with the cold we were able to enjoy the outdoors jacuzzi. Overall it was a very enjoybe stay. Atmosphere is quite relaxed and it wasn't too busy. Good breakfast and the room was decent and large enough although it was missing something. The room was well made with the hotel adding my special request.

Cons:

Felt the room was missing something like a table or those things at the edge of the bed

Fantastic
Pros:

Fantastic staff and such a good set up , great location.

Cons:

The thermal experience was let down by part of it not available due to the fires not working.. which was a huge disappointment. The outside bar was left unattended for an hour.. which is also disappointing when you are only in there for 2 hours. I would check everything was working before booking again as at £55 per person..

Pros:

Spa, although it did smell like it needed a deep clean.

Cons:

Prices for food plus the extra 'add on' was extortionate. Not much choice on bar menu.
Very very pricey. Won't be eating there again.

Massage prices £70 plus for a 25 mins massage,
again, pricey.

Quiet with no atmosphere
Pros:

The hotel is very nicely decorated.

Cons:

No atmosphere. No music or entertainment at all. Location wise there is nothing to do within walking distance.
The staff on reception were very obnoxious when I asked if there would be music or anything on in the pub/bar area of an evening.

Good will go back.
Pros:

Decorated really nicely throughout the hotel, the rooms, hallways, toilets…
Very dog friendly. Loved the blanket, towel and bowl with treats that got brought to our room for our little dog.
Good food in the restaurant. Nice breakfast.

Cons:

The dog friendly rooms have an extra charge but then you have to pay extra again for taking the dog.

The fire alarm went off during our evening meal and there was no reassurance from the staff.

A fall from grace for what used to be a great hotel
Pros:

Location and unfortunately that is about it.

Cons:

25 years ago this was a very nice establishment, however it appears that little has been done to modernize since. Rooms and general decor are very tired. Food in the restaurant was woeful and incredibly expensive. So disappointed.
