Gorgeous hotel and room was perfect! Food was second to none and always such Friendly staff
We had a thermal journey included in our stay this time which was such a treat, however we were slightly disappointed with the cleanliness of the spa. There was a lingering stagnant water smell when sat on the Loungers and even when sat in the pool. The water wasn’t a great colour - quite green and did have a musty smell to it as did the steam room.
We’ve been before and really enjoyed it so this was a slight disappointment to our 10year wedding anniversary stay especially for the £50 per person charge.
Wallpapers in the hallway, we’re pretty cool.
Black mold, a cracked sink, and the rooms weren't cleaned when asked during the day, and it had been 5pm (they know as there wasn't any loo roll!) They also had to ask for multiple keys, as there were issues with the copies that they were given. To top it all off, my partner was sick after eating their food, partner had the pate, followed by the salmon.
Brrakfast in bed ,size of the bed was exelent
Very cosy and nicely decorated. Super clean.
Everything except the price of food and wine.
The price of food and wine.
Location
Pool was close this wasn’t communicated when booked for a present for Christmas and email sent in January to which the hotel must of knew in advance
The room was lovely with a lovely view. The complimentary water was lovely as well.
Loved the spa experience.
We are in the pub I'm the evening and it was absolutely delicious 😋

I was bitterly disappointed.
I booked this stay as an early Valentine’s getaway for my girlfriend and me, following the recent loss of her grandmother. We specifically chose your hotel as a place where we could enjoy the mountains during the day and return to relax and recover using the pool facilities.
We were due to check in at 3:00pm on Friday and arrived shortly after 4:30pm following a long and physically demanding walk, including one of the peaks and Gummers How. Our plan was to check in and make immediate use of the pool to recover ahead of another full day of walking.
Upon arrival, we were informed that the pool was closed for renovations. We had not received any prior notification of this closure. Had we been informed in advance, we would have made alternative arrangements and booked elsewhere. By the time we were notified, it was too late to change our plans.
We were advised that nothing could be done on-site and that the spa was fully booked. As a result, we had no access to the facilities that significantly influenced our decision to book. The evening we had planned for relaxation was instead spent confined to our room without any suitable alternative offered.
The following day, in order to have some form of relaxation, we had to pay additional charges to access the spa — an expense we would not have incurred had the pool been available as advertised. When we raised this with staff, we were told to “take it up with Booking.com” as nothing could be done by the hotel directly.
The lack of communication regarding the closure of a key facility is extremely disappointing and falls below reasonable expectations. Access to the pool was a material factor in our booking decision, and its unavailability directly impacted our stay.
In light of this, I am formally requesting a partial refund to reflect the lack of access to the advertised facilities and the additional costs we incurred. I would appreciate a prompt response outlining how you intend to resolve this matter.
Staff were great
There was no carpet in the bedroom, robes but no slippers. No anti slip mat for shower. Drinks extortionate as was the food prices.
Staff need training , don’t know anything about timings , rude, shout over room when you are speaking to an other members of staff. I booked on behalf of my son . He was in room not knowing when he allowed to use the spa or swimming area so I tried to call 15 times in hr it rang out, so here s free tip which I don’t think you deserve, take ur marketing staff members and put them on reception because all I seem to get his emails every day tell me how great and wonderful you are but the reception does not live up to this .
The outdoor spa pool which connects to indoor, is Dottie water it smells and you can see things floating about that obviously not cleaning it properly
The staff are lovely. The food is very enjoyable.
We couldn't use the spa facilities. I was told we had to book. I've never had to book at a hotel to use the swimming pool before. Also the beer in the bar needs to be cold, warm beer might be ok for people from the south.
Good room with a nice view
Friendly helpful staff
Spa facilities were good
Car park is totally dark at night /signage not so clear = its included in your stay you have to put your registration in at reception
Room felt damp a foisty smell due to mould on walls.
No heating as the heater wouldn't work and the air conditioning was turned off.
Food was average,
Staff in bar and restaurant were friendly.

Food was average,
Told reception aboutvroom following morning as it was getting late when we got to the room and we were told they would pass it on.
No offer of any refund or % off the bill so I emailed next day and was told we would get a% refund and they apologised saying we should gave told them about the room straight away.
Our friends have since been and told us they left without paying as their room had wet walls, damp and mould and the spa was dirty and smelt bad.
We still haven't received the refund
Wonderful hotel food excellent rooms beautiful and friendly staff
The Swan has gone down hill massively! Stayed in one of the loft rooms which costs a lot of money without a deal! Think it maybe time for a refresh, stains on the floor, dirty skirting boards and overall looked a rushed clean. We were disappointed to find out the hotel swimming pool and dream was closed for refurbishment. Yes I know you sent out an email but when we booked the swimming pool was still open. We might not of bothered if we had known. The Spa was lovely, relaxing and clean. The pool water was nice and hot and clean. We went to eat in the bar on the first night and a frozen burger chips, a starter of cheese on toast and a portion of crispy chips, 2 bottle of diet cokes and a Pepsi max came to £48! The restaurant has massively gone down hill! First breakfast was lovely. However, the second breakfast was shocking! No hashbrowns so asked for extra poached eggs. They were a real let down I love dippy runny eggs. These were hard boiled. The sausages were lovely and the cold buffet was the best part! Fresh fruit, lovely granola and fresh bread! We were put off eating in the restaurant after the disaster of the first night. The staff were really welcoming. Overall I’m not sure I would come back here.
