Booking.com pelasti päivän / Booking.com saved the day
Pros:

TV ei toiminut. WhatsAppin kautta sain yhteyden tukihenkilöön, joka auttoi saamaan television toimimaan. Kun hän kysyi, oliko muuta, vitsinä kysyin, voiko hän auttaa vuokra-auton kanssa, ja hän googlasikin minulle neuvoja, mitä seurata auton kanssa. Sain tältä henkilöltä erittäin hyvää palvelua, enemmän kuin olisin osannut odottaa.
Huoneen varaaminen oli hankalaa hotellin sivun kautta, mistä syystä päädyin booking.comiin. Minulle tuli viime hetkellä tarve hotellihuoneeseen. Huoneita oli vapaana, joten ajoin Jämsään varaamaan huoneen paikan päällä. Hotelli olikin itsepalveluhotelli, ei henkilökuntaa. Asun ulkomailla, ja olin ostanut Suomeen tullessani paikallisen SIM-kortin. Yhdistelmä ei toiminut, kun yritin varata huoneen hotellin varaussivun kautta: halusi välttämättä tarkistaa luottokortin ulkomaisen puhelinnumeron kautta. Onneksi onnistui booking.comin kautta ja huone oli halvempi kuin hotellin nettisivulla.

TV didn't work. The support person available through WhatsApp was super helpful and walked me through to get it to work. They went above and beyond when I said that I had a problem with my rental car - they actually googled steps for me to follow. Extremely good customer service.
Reserving the room through hotel website didn't work, which is how I ended up at booking.com. I had a last-minute need for a hotel room. Rooms were available, so I drove to Jämsä intending to book a room there. But this is a self-service hotel with no staff. With my foreign phone with a temporary Finnish SIM card I was not able to book the room through the hotel website, because it wanted to check my credit card at my foreign phone number (learning: set up with the bank before the trip to use an alternate method). Fortunately I was able to book through booking.com, which already had my credit card information. Turned out that the room was even cheaper through booking.com than the hotel's website.

Cons:

I did not like the carpet flooring - it never gives a clean impression.
The handle to open the door was clunky to use and it might not be good for someone with hand pain or hands full.

Aina kannattaa yllättyä.
Pros:

Hiljainen,varattu huone olikin siivoamatta,mutta soittamalla homma saatiin hoidettua. Saatiin parempi huone,vaihto onnistui muutamassa minuutissa. Paljon kiitoksia tästä.

Cons:

Mega alte hotel. Überall stink nach alte Teppich und Feuchtigkeit. Keine Rezeption. Extrem teuer für das was es ist. Frühstück ist nicht in Hotel sondern 200 Meter auf anderen Seiten der Strassen in eine Art Tankstelle. Ich kann die Preise wirklich nicht glauben. Ich wird nie mehr dieses Hotel buchen. Einfach alles schlimm.

Pros:

Helppo sisäänkirjautuminen. Perussiisti huone, vaikkakin hieman aikaa nähnyt. Yhteisiä tiloja alakerrassa ja ilmaisia parkkipaikkoja. Sähköauton latausmahdollisuus viereisen Tokmannin parkkipaikalla (Plugit).

Cons:

Aamiainen läheisellä huoltoasemalla. Aamiainen itsessään oli ok, vaikkakin hieman suppea, mutta olisi ollut mukavampi, että se olisi tarjottu samassa rakennuksessa. Itselläni oli jäänyt aamiaisen tarjoilupaikka huomaamatta varausta tehdessä.
