Clean, simple lodgings in heart of Pondy
Pros:

Good location, friendly staff and very clean. There is a major temple at the end of the road and it was the harvest festival when I was staying, which added to the fun and ambiance of the location. You are walking distance to beach, market and ashram

Cons:

My room was very pokey and the window looked out onto the corridor. That was ok but I would have liked a little more space and be able to see the street. There was an overpowering smell of detergent/room freshener

The room stinks because the ventilation of the bathroom is not well thought out. After you shower you have to turn up the AC to get the humidity out of the room.

Pros:

Good location on a fairly quiet street. Rooms was clean and comfortable - I had a single room with private bathroom.

Cons:

The A/C remote didn’t work in my room so I couldn’t adjust it - as the room was small, it got too cold (even in the Pondicherry heat), the only way to turn it off was at the wall, but would eventually get too hot. I told staff on the first day but it was not fixed. Not a huge problem, just slightly annoying.
