Very enjoyable.
Pros:

It was clean and well decorated in a good location near the city centre and Barbican

Cons:

The temperature of the electric shower was very difficult to get right. A slight wrong turn of the temperature control knob and the water would be scalding hot.

Pros:

We booked this hotel as we had to find an overnight stay very quickly due to a funeral the following day. Well what an absolute gem it turned out to be. The staff were so welcoming and friendly who explained everything about the hotel to us. As we arrived early we were able to leave our car parked in a space at the front of the hotel until our room was ready. The position of the hotel was excellent for exploring the area. The Hoe was less than five minutes walk away, whilst a fifteen minute walk took us straight to the Barbican with so many restaurants and bars to choose from. When we arrived back at the hotel we were given our room key which was situated on the first floor. It was really charming, quite spacious, beautiful pristine linen and towels, coffee and tea making facilities. The bathroom was also spacious with quite a large shower cubicle. Both rooms were warm and cosy. The dining room was very modern spotless clean. Help yourself buffet breakfast followed by an English Full Cooked Breakfast, or a good variety of other hot foods. I would highly recommend this hotel for a weekend break, or even a longer stay. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Cons:

There was nothing to dislike about the hotel. The owners and staff are doing a wonderful job.

Clean comfortable staff was excellent and great location
Pros:

The accommodation was really clean and tidy. The staff were excellent and very friendly. The price was really reasonable with the breakfast, which was lovely thank you.

Cons:

I stayed in a single room downstairs very comfortable and clean. The only one slight thing I would say is it was quite small, so for a few pounds more I would probably next time book a double bed room.

Pros:

The breakfast was outstanding, both in breadth of choice as well as quality of product. Gluten free options were available upon request.

Cons:

Internet occasionally cut out - but all I had to do was reconnect and no problems.

Good value for the money with an excellent location and well appointed rooms.
Pros:

The room and bathroom were well appointed and very clean.
The location was excellent for visiting the city, the Barbican and the Hoe.

Cons:

Breakfast was underwhelming. You order your breakfast the night before. I suspect my breakfast, on the first day,had been cooked/plated in anticipation of my arrival. Fried eggs were at best luke warm whilst the bacon was dry. On the second day I switched to scrambled egg which was warmer but the bacon was again dry and luke warm. On the third day I went with fruit, cereal and toast.

Perfect location
Pros:

The hotel was brilliantly located one block from The Hoe and three blocks from the Barbican. Every single member of staff was friendly and very professional. The breakfast was wonderful and really fresh. The room we had was under street level but incredibly light and bright and clean. The gold glitter grout in the bathroom was a quirky surprise.

Cons:

Nothing

We loved this hotel! It's location is perfect for the city, the Hoe, the Barbican - everything. It's spotlessly clean, the staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms and beds are very comfortable, the road is quiet, the breakfasts delicious and the parking free. We would definitely stay at the Drake again.

Pros:

The room and ensuite bathroom was good and roomy. The location was excellent. We didn’t use the car at all which was parked outside the hotel. There was a huge range of cereals etc for breakfast. Everyone was very friendly and they had great suggestions of where to eat.

Lovely hotel and great location
Pros:

Staff lovely on arrival and great breakfast. Spotlessly clean, with parking and great location.

Cons:

Noisy extractor fan outside our window at the back of the hotel. We're very light sleepers but maybe it wouldn't bother some people. Think it was room 20. Would definitely book again, just not that room.
