A five-star hotel? Absolutely not.
I honestly do not understand how this hotel can claim to be a five-star property. For around €90 per night, this has been one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have ever had.
The food is really bad. I had some of the worst carbonara of my life — seriously, how can you call that carbonara? And I won’t even get started on the breakfast: most of it consists of tasteless, industrial products with absolutely nothing that feels worthy of a five-star hotel. The only real exception was the local food, which was genuinely delicious and full of flavour.
There is no Smart TV, and I spent nearly three hours trying to connect my laptop via HDMI, because the TV kept disconnecting. Luckily, I had my own laptop and HDMI adapter — but what are other guests supposed to do? Watch Malaysian TV? At this price, providing a functional Smart TV really shouldn't be too much to ask.
There is also no drinking water provided. When I asked, I was told to drink the tap water. At the very least, providing glass bottles filled with filtered water would feel much more professional and appropriate for a hotel of this supposed standard.
And then there is this swimming pool. There are only around five sunbeds for an enormous number of guests, while a large space right next to the pool is practically empty, with only two or three armchairs. I had planned to spend the day relaxing by the pool, but it turned out to be the worst area.
I do want to acknowledge that, following my complaint, the hotel refunded me half a night's stay as a gesture of apology. This genuinely made a difference and allowed me to enjoy the rest of my stay a little more. A special mention, however, to the TV engineer and the Assistant Manager, who were both absolutely lovely and genuinely tried to help. They listened to my concerns and understood my requests. My frustration is certainly not directed at them. The real responsibility for these issues clearly lies much higher up.

location is a little bit awkward, had to turn the merry go round before arriving if driving, not straight forward walking distance to midvalley or garden mall
must be driving if want to go out, nearby is just one 711 which would required walking across 2 buildings distance
in room dining took quite long time to arrive at night, and was told the food sent to wrong room 🥹
(however, free fruits was being served next day)
breakfast buffet was great but very crowded, tables are hard to secure when going in at peak hours, had to sit at outdoor with roti canai station which could be a little

We absolutely love the clean and spacious rooms. The beds are the best! The shampoo, conditioner and shower gel smell delicious, love it. The breakfast is amazing with so much choice. We like that the hotel is connected to the malls. And as a family of 5 we like to have the connecting doors. It is perfect to get the hotel experience as a family and have the kids close yet have some privacy. It is very convenient to take a grab from the hotel to the airport. It usually takes less than an hour because the hotel is not in a crowded area. Yet it’s still close to the centre.
The people working there are super friendly and helpful. From reception to breakfast buffet to cleaners to concierge and security. Each and everyone goes the extra mile. Thank you!!
We love Amari hotel and will come back. But would like to see the pool open until midnight. It’s so nice to go for a short swim after dinner & shopping. 😊

The wifi is not reliable as access wifi signal is very weak especially up in the room
I liked the size of the room. We booked two rooms and both rooms were very good size for families with little children.
There were nothing really that I dislike.
