Pros:

Nice pool
the room had a kitchen
good location

Cons:

I was allergic to the down pillows and comforter so I had to contact the front desk to get new pillows and a new comforter. There was no TV in the bedroom.
The gym was closed for renovations.
The table in the room was too small for two people traveling with laptops.
The free coffee was only from 7am-8am

Pros:

The location was great! We were able to walk to everything. Lots of good restaurants.

Cons:

The shower/tub in our studio was awful. The tub had a step in that was at least 2 feet high. No grab bars and a very slippery surface on the tub. We couldn't use it. Ended up sponge bathing at the sink. Even our adult children couldn't use it.

Wonderful Place To Stay!!
Pros:

Our stay at Roost in Tampa was beyond perfect!! The unit had everything we needed, the coffee is fresh beans that you grind yourself! Every staff member was extremely professional and friendly, especially Eli, we couldn’t have asked for anyone nicer.

Could be so much better…
Pros:

Having stayed at the Roost a couple of times before I was looking forward to this visit. However, I was a tad disappointed in how tired the rooms have become, how disinterested and surly some of the staff are and the overall cleanliness over the apartments. Before, going any further I would just like to give a shout out to Ivan, who took charge when his staff were useless and did a sterling job sorting out my issues.
If management do per chance read this review, they should look at the following:
1. Have better lighting in the bedrooms. Do American’s not read in bed? The current bedside lamps have the combined wattage of a firefly! It is too dark at night to even see to get changed.
2. Make sure the sofa and chairs are cleaned more often. The kitchen chair seats are stained and the sofa smells of dog… When were they last deep cleaned?
3. Think about putting in net blinds. Trying to change in the bedroom, in the morning, is a recipe for the people living in the apartments opposite to file indecent exposure complaints!
4. Employ more people like Ivan. He was the best thing about staying at the Roost.

Clean and wonderful
Pros:

Very nice hotel that is central to many restaurants and a Publix. It's a walkable neighborhood. The room was very clean and comfortable. You will hear noise and music at night from the restaurants, but the hotel provides a white noise machine, and it works perfectly. I would absolutely stay here again. The staff was also very polite and kind.

Excellent
Pros:

The Roost Tampa is in an excellent area!!! Tons of restaurants with in walking distance and a 1/2 block to Amelia Arena!
The manager on duty was exceptional and the front desk staff was very accommodating!
I travel with tiny poodles so their safety is the most important thing when choosing a hotel!
You can’t get up the elevator without a key and I love that!!
This was my fourth time staying here!! And I will again and again!!
