A great hotel if you want an affordable hotel with a great location in Tokyo
Pros:

Perfect location in Ueno whilst exploring both the neighbourhoods and Tokyo itself.

Cons:

A small and sometimes crowded reception. A shame the hotel did not have an onsen for hotel guests.

Nettes Hotel mitten im Leben
Pros:

Nettes Personal, gute Ausstattung, neueres Hotel. Frühstück im Restaurant im Haus war recht gut. Möglichkeit zwei große Koffer unter das Bett schieben zu können war gut. Die Nähe zu Restaurnts, Bars, Shopping Möglichkeiten und Bahnhof Ueno, Metro bzw. Station Ueno an der der Narita Express startet ist super.

Cons:

Zimmer selbst für japanische Verhältnisse klein, sowie auch das Bad, aber man ist ja sowieso meist unterwegs.

Perfect for a short stay - central close to trainstation and lively food area
Pros:

- Very clean room, everything that is needed was available (even shaver, toothbrush, hairbrush, Kimono, etc.)
- The location close to subway, lively area with restaurants and Ueno trainstation is perfect.
- Despite being a lively area, when the window was closed it was very silent and possible to sleep. Curtain closes well. The AC worked without problems.

Cons:

- The breakfast is a joke - don't book it! There are plenty of alternatives nearby (Starbucks, etc.)
- The room and bathroom is really small. This was not a problem for me personally, but someone tall (even if not overweight) may have issues in the bathroom. I guess it's normal in Tokyo to have small rooms ;-)
- The staff at checkinn was not very helpful, let me queue for many minutes although in the end I had to do self-checkinn at a terminal (the terminals were empty while I was queuing). The whole situation with several employees standing around seemed totally uncoordinated. The music in the entrance hall was also awful and the checkin/out area is creepy / ugly. Tons of luggages standing around - one doesn't feel welcome. Luckily this was different in my room.

Hotel très agréable
Pros:

L'hôtel situé dans un quartier très animé à une position idéale. Deux lignes de métro sont à environ 5 min à pied. Chambres silencieuses et propres.

Cons:

Le petit déjeuner est orienté local, ce qui paraît normal. Il y a heureusement une partie en sucré et salé type européen car tout le monde ne mange pas des nouilles ou du poisson fumé le matin😄
