Great ambience and rooms!
Highly recommend this establishment! The workers were all very nice and accommodating. The area was so convenient a lot of things were within walking distance for the most part.
Property is very welcoming and beautiful space.
I liked the variety of choices for breakfast. Hot decaf coffee was good.
The rooms were extremely unclean. We had to have 3 room changes due to hair found on the bed, hair found on the bathroom floor, unclean microwave and fridge, unclean shower and tub and old odor in rooms. The front desk was kind in helping us with room changes (as we pointed out uncleanliness to them in person when walking through the rooms) but unfortunately we couldn’t locate a room that was clean enough to stay in. We ended up cancelling our reservation and not staying. We would strong not recommend this hotel.
Such a cute place lived the view of Sutter Fort. Enjoyed the breakfast every morning. The lounge area where breakfast was served was a cool space.
Friday night it got pretty loud in the street and the crowd around the hotel was a little more transient and rowdy.

This Hyatt is special. I might be a Hyatt House person now. Every aspect of the stay exceeded my expectations, from staff friendliness to the gym to the breakfast area.

The hotel is lovely and the room was great, large, fully equipped and very clean.
The front desk staffing was sub par. There was no one at the desk when I arrived and I had to wait 20 minutes to check in. The front desk clerk didn't seem to think this was a problem, explaining that she had to go help another guest in their room, so she couldn't be at the front desk.
Rooms are only cleaned every other day unless you are a Hyatt Rewards member or request daily cleaning. Not a great policy, but the most infuriating part of this was that the front desk clerk told me that the Hyatt Reward members were paying for the privilege of having their rooms cleaned. She obviously thought that you needed to pay to join the program. I had to look it up and show her that the program was free to all comers.
These are not huge problems, but they definitely colored my experience. My friend in another room couldn't check in because the computers went down and then didn't have TV or phone service in her room. Also, not the end of the world, but not particularly pleasant.
This is my 4th or 5th time staying with Hyatt House Midtown - I love the building, the area, the hotel restaurant and staff (especially Annamaria)- my only complaint this time around was that the breakfast was a little sub-par, waffles were cold and hard and the pancakes too. They were having some difficulties, where their system went down, it did not affect my check-in process but it did for many of my co-workers.
