I came in town for a concert at Harlow's. This hotel is less than one block away from the location, which made it the perfect place to stay. I was upgraded to a room that included a kitchen, which was very nice of the staff to do. They said I'd be more comfortable with my two dogs! I was on Floor 2, which is part of the original brick building, so the room had an exposed brick wall and was basically soundproof! Some of the higher floors are a built-on addition and don't look as authentic. The AC unit was so quiet I could not even hear it turn on. The bed and even the couch were super comfortable. Bedding and pillows were high-quality. And the included breakfast? TOP NOTCH! Eggs, pancakes, tater tots, sausage, yogurt, granola, fruit - and the staff were constantly refilling and making sure everything was hot. Three beautiful parks close by - we loved the rose garden at McKinley Park the best.
There is no hotel parking lot and valet is $45 per night. I booked a spot in the Sutter Health garage less than 2 blocks away via Spothero for $30 for the entire weekend. There is also not a good place to pull up to load and/or unload your car. I got lucky and got a metered parking spot on the street to do this. The toilet seat was cheap plastic and kept moving around when I sat on it. They could really upgrade the toilet seats to match the high-end bathrooms. There are lots of nightclubs around the hotel, so on a Saturday night in particular, the scene outside was pretty rowdy, but I could not hear anything from my brick sound-proof room! Quite a few unhoused people in the park across the street and surrounding area, but this is part of Sacramento, like any big city. No one bothered me - many commented on how cute my dogs were. Finally there is a pet cleaning fee of $100 per night. This is a little steep, especially when you have dogs that do not shed. My two-night stay cost almost $1,000.
Arrived to the included breakfast at 9 am, ends at 10 am. There were no clean plates, there was a stack of small plates that were dirty. Only food available was runny eggs, everything else was out/empty.
Nice new room and bathroom.
Parking situation is too expensive and awkward. Location is close to downtown but not walking distance.

I loved the old elements of the building that they kept: brick archway windows.

The staff was so nice and accommodating.
The king bed suite was perfect. Cook top and microwave, in fridge and freezer empty and ready for our leftovers.
Couldn’t say there was anything I didn’t find lovely. I really enjoyed our stay.
They did not clean up and change towels every day with out tell them 🙄.
I stayed 14 nights, but I couldn't get enough towels.
