Simple but functional accommodation, perfect for a single traveller, I would definitely stay again.
Pros:

For a single person not planning to spend a lot of time in the room, this was an excellent choice. The bed was comfortable, the location and the building were quiet, the manager was friendly. The main Katoomba shops are an easy short walk away. The massage chair in the room was amazing - a really nice inclusion!

Cons:

The only chairs in the room were the (excellent!) massage chair or a hard stool, I would have preferred a more conventional chair to sit and read. Also no flyscreen on the window, so I had flies come into the room when I had the window open for fresh air.

Creepy hospice vibes
Pros:

Cons:

We were not aware that this was a former hospice/psychiatric hospital with a creepy vibe to it. My friend and I were given rooms far apart from each other (they were completely on the opposite sides of the building).
The kitchen facilities were lacking and it appeared to be more so for the staff living there.
The place is very tired and run down, cold, drafty.
Bathrooms were not clean and there’d be one to serve many rooms.
We then looked up “Hearty Centre” and found a website with lots of cancer treatments services advertised but it looks like they are not equipped to provide such therefore it looks extremely suspicious. Wouldn’t return.

It was cheap so I guess you get what you pay for. but clean. Nothing fancy. But a good central location.

It was cheap. It was clean and bright and a good location. The bed was comfortable.

Cons:

First impressions are the most important. The garden was overgrown and weedy. When I pulled up I thought it was closed down. There was no Tv in the room and it had a massage chair which is not necessary. Swap it out for a tv and it would be better. Little changes like having ceramic mugs instead of paper cups would be better.

Just don’t stay there. Don’t be fooled by the pictures of the place like I was.
Pros:

The building was run down but beautiful. The inside was stripped of any period detail which disappointed me.

Cons:

It was just weird. No tv in the room, which I could live without. No fridge either. No air conditioning. The grounds were messy and overgrown. Weird sealed off doors everywhere, the whole experience was strange.

Comfy bed, fine for a $168 nights stay, but check your towels for stains 💀

location was good, 10-15 minute walk to shops, bed was spacious and comfy, heater was good because floors were cold

Cons:

Facilities were pretty poor, i found a dirty spot on my towel before using it and called staff to replace it, unfortunately it took a while before they were able to give me a replacement and it was late so i had already just used the smaller hand towel sized towels for my shower, pretty gross. The shared spa shower at the hotel looked nice in the pictures online, but in reality the shower head was broken and sprayed water out of a crack in the handle rather than at the actual head and the water didnt drain which was pretty gross. Ended up showering a second time in the regular shower in the room in which the hot water started to run cold after a few minutes.

Please put a sign to indicate the blocked drainage in the shared spa shower so people don't use it until it is fixed because that was a terrible experience.

There was nothing to like about staying here.

Cons:

The toilets were covered in urine, the bathrooms unclean, the hallways reeked of cigarette smoke, the lobby smelled terrible, there was no heat in the place. Shared shower unclean. Not much to like.
