Cons:

We had two flights of stairs to climb to our room, there are no lifts (its an old coaching inn). Next time we would ask for a room on a lower level as my husband has mobility issues.

Another Great Stay
Pros:

It was my second stay and I will return. It gives me everything that I need for a comfortable, relaxing stay. The breakfast is very good and the staff are very friendly, plenty of onsite parking too.

Super cute, cosy and comfortable. Amazing food.
Pros:

The Inn was absolutely lovely. Secluded and felt remote but also super close to Guisborough and other villages.

The rooms were super cute, cosy and comfy. The evening meal we had in the bar was fantastic, huge hearty portions and amazing chips! The chef was brilliant he came out and chatted to me about my veggie option. Breakfast was also lovely.

Would definitely stay here again as a base to explore the Moors!

Fabulous
Pros:

The room was clean, like new, beds comfortable, shower fabulous, view from room stunning, breakfast choice delicious. Would definitely stay again.

No electricity, no emergency assistance and no response to our complaint. Extremely disappointing.

We stayed on 3 October 2026 and had a very disappointing experience. There was no electricity in our room throughout the night. We called the emergency number provided by the hotel, but the lady who answered was extremely rude and seemed annoyed at being woken up. Despite explaining the situation, nobody came to help, and we were left to spend the entire night without electricity.

I subsequently emailed the hotel requesting a refund, but six days after our stay, nobody has bothered to acknowledge the complaint, apologise or offer an explanation.

This is completely unacceptable, particularly for a place that provides an emergency contact number but fails to respond when guests genuinely need help. Very disappointing customer service and certainly not value for money.

Clean, spacious accommodation
Pros:

Really spacious room, excellent bathroom, comfortable seating as well as the usual bedroom furniture. Exceptionally frienddly staff. Top notch breakfast. Spotlessly clean.

Cons:

Just a bit of road noise, wouldn't be an issue for most, but I'm used to total silence at night. Still I had a comfortable night.

Cons:

Reception on arriving lacklustre. Sofa bed not made up or sheets etc immediately available. Road quite noisy. Breakfast pretty average. No evening meal option

Lovely place!
Pros:

It was lovely and peaceful. Brilliant room with loads of space and high spec bathroom/shower and furnishings. It looked as though it was recently renovated. Lovely view out over the reservoir too. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Cons:

Only a tiny thing but the tap in our room took ages to get cold and even then it was luke warm. We had bottled water in the room (provided by the hotel) to drink but it was just for teeth brushing.

Disappointing and frustrating. Hotel is a good location and rooms generally good for the price.
Pros:

Room was a good size and clean. Location is good and parking easy.

Cons:

We selected a hotel with a restaurant as we didn't wish to leave for dinner. On arrival we were asked by the team member if we had received their message confirming there was no food that evening - 'the Chef has been working all summer and needs some time off' - no message had been received. We went down for breakfast at 8.05am (advised breakfast from 8.00am) as the the cook was just walking in. An error was made with one of our selections meaning one breakfast was brought and eaten before the second arrived. In both case the eggs were overcooked - poached and scrambled. Generally service felt disorganised. Water in the basin in the bathroom ran hot for both hot and cold ! A shame as the location is good, rooms generally ok.

Everywhere was clean and it looked like recently decorated. Lovely old building renovated to a very modern standard.

The attic rooms are a little tight for a 6 footer
