Beautiful building, rooms were clean and comfy with great decor.
The hotel has, I think, a mock Edwardian theme which isn't particularly to our taste. But it is very central, relatively cosy, comfortable.
They overdo the room spray which wasn't pleasant for a while and service is a little brusk but ok.
Exeter itself was impressive. A lot of investment has paid off.
Super hotel in the middle to Exeter met all our needs whilst visiting family members. Exeter Central 10 mins away Exeter St David's about 20 min walk. All shops and eateries nearby, hotel holds luggage for you, and you can eat in the restaurant. Roof top bar, not able to test this out due to private party in full swing. 3 Steps but also ramp to hotel for access. 2 Lifts in place.
Was very busy with students/families and other guests not an issue for us but lively.
Location, decor, vibe, the variety of quality drinks in the rooms, tea cups! Great rooftop
Would have preferred a pillow choice (ie feather) but there may have been more pillows in the wardrobe and I just didn’t check.
The location was perfect for what we needed.
The floorboards were the creakiest things in the world and as some points you felt like you were going to fall through the floor.
Excellent location with all shops, Exeter quay and restaurants within walking distance. Lovely rooftop terrace however a lot of private functions so only went once for cocktails. Would highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Exeter expecially a room with a terrace as lovely looking on to the ruins below
The corner suite was clean and spacious, the bathroom had a large shower and roll top bath. We had a side view of the Cathedral, Central location, easy to walk everywhere. Parking in the shopping centre carpark easy to use. 5 mins walk to hotel.
We had paid for breakfast, however sadly we had to wait over a hour for our order. I believe this was due to lack of staff on a busy day (Exeter Uni open day) the staff who were there (a very friendly and professional waitress remained calm amongst the chaos, clearly not her fault the management had accepted so many booking, but couldn't cater for breakfast and had reduced staff) our morning was stressful as breakfast was cold when it finally arrived and we were therefore late for the open day. There were large queues to check out, again surely on a university open day, which happens each year, there could be a 'quick check out box-?
There were sadly many frustrated customers due to this and left a sour taste to what should have been a relaxing stay.
Location. Very central and easy to get to. Beautiful bedrooms.
Excellent location, great view, comfy bed, nice toiletries, welcoming for dogs
Not much it was all very good. Missing some basic utensils at the breakfast buffet (tongues for toast, tongues for pastries, a knife to cut the bread!) and the pile of plates at the buffet were all wet. Me and another guest had to find napkins to dry them before getting our food
The main areas of the hotel were lovely
We paid £375 for a night for a good room. What we got was an accessible room over looking the fans from the kitchen with old cushions and cigarette ends outside our window
