It’s unique and has charme.
The restaurant was very cold, they only had instant coffee and the staff was not so much into it..
The free car park opposite the hotel was convenient
I booked a 4 night stay in a cave suite with a jacuzzi for our anniversary. However, our suite (‘Sarah’, with the angel and mermaid carvings) had visibly damp, crumbling walls, a cold, damp bed, a strong mouldy smell, and a large dehumidifier running alongside an excessively noisy ventilation fan. We reported the issue to reception, although staff were rarely around. We initially agreed to give the room one night and requested the fan be switched off due to the noise but the dampness remained unbearable. The dehumidifier filled within hours, forcing us to empty it during the night. Our luggage and clothing became damp and we barely slept. The two other cave suites showed no comparable dampness or smell, nor had dehumidifiers, clearly showing the problem was specific to our room. After requesting a change, management proposed moving us between 2 different rooms for the remaining 3 nights (both lower categories) which was not an acceptable solution to keep unpacking and repacking during a busy trip. Instead, we found another cave room (‘Secret’) available on Booking.com for the remaining three nights, which we’d already seen had no damp or bad smells. When we requested a partial refund through Booking.com, the hotel denied there was a problem or that the replacement was a downgrade despite the cost difference, claiming we had simply been uncomfortable with the ‘normal humidity of a jacuzzi-equipped cave room’. Other reviews show the hotel defending the negative comments regarding the damp with ‘the smell is the natural scent of the cave room. We understand cave accommodation has unique characteristics, having stayed in similar places many times. However, damp walls, wet bedding, a strong mouldy smell and moisture affecting our belongings go beyond normal cave-room conditions. The hotel also claimed it lost revenue because our original room could not be resold. Yet we personally saw another couple check in the following night, and they were still there when left
Staff was very helpful and the bed was comfy!
The cave room was poorly ventilated and the AC did not work so it was really musty and hot. The smell by the morning was almost unbearable. The hot tub also smelled like sulfur when we ran it
Locatie foarte interesanta privelistea frumoasa asupra gradinii si a unei parti a orasului vechi.
The beautiful cave rooms. The location was stunning and well appointed for our needs. Everything was within walking distance as well.
The only drawback is that they were painting the patio table and chairs in the middle of the season, which meant you couldn't enjoy the stunning patio outside.
