Pros:

My stay exceeded all expectations! The staff were exceptionally friendly, always smiling and eager to help despite the language barrier. They went out of their way to meet every need. The rooms were spotless with stunning sea views, especially from the terrace. The ferry is just steps away, with the bus and metro also very close. My home away from home in Istanbul!

Nichts desto trotz das Hotel ist auf jedenfall weiter zu empfehlen. Wir waren und sind froh dort gewesen zu sein 👍
Pros:

Die Lage ist super, quasi direkt an der Prominade, Metro, Marmaray und die Fähre zu den andern Stadtteilen liegen einem vor den Füßen.
Das Personal ist super freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Hotel ist richtig sauber gewesen. Frühstück war lecker und abwechslungsreich für jeden Geschmack was dabei gewesen.

Cons:

Im Zimmer hat man leider die Klimaanlagen welche im Hinterhof verbaut waren doch recht störend wargenommen. Das leichte Brummen der Ventilatoren war für mich störend.

I will return to this hotel again
Pros:

The hotel was clean, room well cleaned, great bathroom, soft and clean bed.
The breakfast cafe overlooking the Bosphorus was delightful, hearty breakfasts and great transportation accessibility

There was a room on the second floor overlooking the road (literally the road was in my line of sight)

Pros:

The main plus point for May Otel is its location. It is very close to the ferry ports, marmaray and the local shops. The breakfast is reasonable but the tight gits charge you for putting veggies in your omelette. The staff are attentive.

Cons:

The hotel is in poor condition. It's very tired and I think the staff have stopped caring. The lift has been overdue for a service since Oct 2024 (writing this in Aug 2025). I hate the small lift. Takes ages to get to the floors. Beggars are often found outside. The bathroom facilities are poor. Shower's falling to pieces, the water doesn't drain in the basin and someone needs to refit the toilet seat correctly. The basin tap wobbles. Oh, there's loud music and noise coming from the restaurant area of an evening. It can be a nuisance. This restaurant needs a big revamp.

Decent hotel but not good for longer stays
Pros:

Good location but it is overpriced. Rooms were ok. Breakfast was good but the quality varied every day. I think it is a good hotel for 1-2 day trips. It is conveniently located with easy access to metro, ferries, restaurants and shopping. We stayed for 7 days and could see their good and bad days. We extended our stay in Istanbul but moved to another hotel which offered a better value for a lower price.

Location

Cons:

The room had a very bad smell.
Anything in the hallways was extremely loud amd you could everyone passing by, the lift etc.
Breakfast staff wasn‘t super nice.

Pros:

Wir kommen öfter in dieses Hotel da es einfach super ist. Die Lage ist top, die Zimmer sind sauber. Frühstücksbuffet ist reichlich genug da und das Personal ist sehr bemüht. Die Klimaanlagen funktionieren super.

Een echte aanrader
Pros:

Fijne locatie. Kamers waren wel aan de kleine kant maar genoeg voor 2 voor een paar dagen. Kamer was verder goed schoon. Collega’s ook erg vriendelijk. Ontbijt was ook top!
