Good budget choice for overnighting before or after flight.
Pros:

We were just looking for a 1-night stay after a long flight, and Costa Love was great for this. Easy to find, secure parking, very friendly staff, nice breakfast included and the possibility to order takeaway food to your room, which was great as we didn't want to go looking for a restaurant. The room was very simple but comfortable (the hot water didn't work but we didn't mind) and there's a good amount of noise from the road, but the hotel itself was quiet. There's even a small pool. Recommended for a budget overnight before or after your flight.

Value for money with extremely helpful staff.
Pros:

The staff could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. I spent my first night there before heading to Santo Domingo but because of the affordability of the hotel and friendliness of the staff, I returned for my final night in DR.

Pros:

The rooms are big. The staff are friendly and English speaking. There is a great choice for breakfast and the breakfast is freshly cooked. It's close to the bus station for Santo Domingo, and there is a free transfer to the bus station. The bus drops you off in the Colonial Zone, if you ask the conductor.

Cons:

The hotel is far from most tourist sites. But I knew this when I booked. I had flown in late at night so needed somewhere near the airport. The Uber from the airport was about 8$.
