Meritel punches well above its weight and was one of the most pleasant surprises of my time in Hanoi. Perfectly located in the heart of the Old Quarter, it made exploring the city effortless, with countless attractions, restaurants, and cafés just a short walk away.
One of the standout touches was being assigned a dedicated concierge upon arrival. William was exceptional—attentive, professional, and always available to assist throughout my stay. It’s a level of personalized service you don’t often find, especially at this price point.
From the beautiful interior design and thoughtful welcome gifts to the outstanding breakfast each morning, every detail felt carefully considered. The combination of comfort, hospitality, and value made for a truly memorable stay. I would happily recommend Meritel to anyone visiting Hanoi and sincerely hope to return someday myself.

Great sized bed and shower
We stayed at the Meritel Hotel in Hanoi as a large family group (10 adults and 1 child), across different dates between 23rd May and 3rd June, and I can honestly say it was one of the most memorable hotel experiences we’ve ever had.
From the moment we arrived, everything just felt easy. The hotel is in a perfect spot in the Old Quarter - close enough to everything you want to see, but still a calm and comfortable place to come back to after a busy day in Hanoi. The rooms were great, the hotel itself is beautiful, but what really makes this place special is the people.
The staff were on another level. Warm, genuinely caring, and always a step ahead of what we needed. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble. A very special mention to Ms PAnh Hoang, who looked after us so well throughout our stay — always kind, helpful, and making sure everything ran smoothly for our big group.
One moment we’ll never forget was the birthday surprise they organised for our 3-year-old niece. We didn’t expect anything big, but they turned it into something magical. The effort, the detail, the thoughtfulness — it genuinely moved all of us. It ended up being one of the highlights of our entire trip, not just Hanoi.
By the time we left, we all said the same thing: we’re coming back here. No question about it. If you’re visiting Hanoi and want a place that feels welcoming, well-located, and truly special because of its people, this is the hotel to book!

We liked in general a lot of things about this property. It was a bit expensive for value was our only complaint. This was the main problem though, the staff asked us the same questions Booking.com asks at check out of the stay. When I didn’t give them an absolutely perfect score. I literally only marked very minimal things and was overall happy. Their emotions changed and were very unhappy. We left and then the man chased us outside, bringing a gift and then asking us not to write them on Booking.com because it wasn’t perfect. This felt like bribery and bothered us.
