OYO 90576 Holiday Dive Inn

部屋は二階のバルコニー付きで、このホテルでは一番良いカテゴリーです。ダイビングパッケージの宿で3泊の予定でしたが、耐えきれず、2泊は別のホテルに避難しました。元ハードコアバックパッカーぽい白人も微妙だとコメントしてましたので軟弱な大和民族には無理です。
やばい点:
1)シャワーがチョロチョロしかでない(水だろうがお湯だろうが同じ)。写真はマックスの水量です。
2)セキュリティがやばい。部屋に戻ってきたらうちの部屋に加え他の部屋2部屋分の合い鍵が置いてありました。掃除の人が忘れたと思いますが、やばすぎでしょう。
3)雨漏りして荷物が濡れた
4)薄汚く薄暗い。これは主観的ですが。写真の赤い扉はバルコニーへの出入口ですね。
避難先はseafest hotel とsipadn inn 3でしたが、上記のような問題はありませんでした。

Worst points
We stayed (or kinda did not actually) the second floor room with balcony.

1) literally very marginal shower pressure ( the photo is even at max pressure )
2) master keys of two other rooms were left at our room. The housemaids may have left them but very scary.
3) water dripping from the ceiling which wetted our luggage.

Since we cannot stand above issues, we escaped two nights out of three nights we have booked as diving package to other hotels.

The only reason we stayed here is because it was required to dive with guaranteed permits. I have been to a Semporna / Sipadan before and there is no way on earth I would come here without a permit “in-hand”. We booked 5 days of diving with 3 days of guaranteed Sipadan diving and a Sipadan Scuba was the only one offering confirmed days of diving ... but you had to take their hotel as part of the package. We completed one day of area diving plus our 3 days of Sipadan and walked away from the last day of diving and hotel which speaks for itself.

Regarding the hotel, the place is a hole - you can choose your own adjective but I have no idea where the 4 star rating comes from or the “friendly”. The staff are a case study in indifference and that is only if you can get them to look up from their YouTube or video game endeavours.

Positives first ... sheets were clean and the bed was comfortable enough. Air conditioning met the bare minimum standards of functionality but just, and to their credit the water in the shower could be made as hot as I could take it with enough pressure to be useful.

The negatives - water from the base of the toilet seal leaked across the floor and ultimately down the shower drain. I invested in shower flip-flops for the first time in my life. The noise of the rats squeaking and running either between the ceiling and the roof (or on the roof ... we never did figure that out definitively) was a pain, and the internet DID NOT WORK in the room at any speed 99% of the time. We maintained two SIM cards for the duration of our trip to hot-spot our connectivity. The first kettle leaked water as fast as you could pour it in, the second worked about 50% of the time on the first attempt and if you chose to use the lid it flies off when you go to pour. Both kettles are still in rotation, but in different rooms from when I arrived. Futuristically, there are two USB plugins embedded in the outlet above the nightstand - that may be functional at some point in the future. Combined this along with the cigarette burns in the bedcover provide a bit of an indication of the general feel of the place.

Which brings us back to the staff and attitude. I went down to verify the internet passwords (printed on the back of the door) as when in the room they kept coming back as incorrect passwords. Once shocked out of stasis, reception informed me that internet was not supposed to be used in the room and that it could be used in the lobby - which would have been great if I didn’t mind wedging myself in between the six, presumably connected, kids on the couches staring intently at their screens.

We have been travelling for almost 3 months now and have stayed in worse hotels / hostels but in each case they have gone out of their way to be helpful, provide advise, and make the experience in their hotel and town the best it could be. Here, once they have your money any problems or concerns you might have are yours and yours alone assuming you can get anyone to acknowledge your presence.

Loved Sipadan itself, dive company was acceptable, dislike the hotel but as a previous reviewer said, if you stay in the docks area “you can avoid walking through the sewage of Semporna”.

This hotel is pretty decent, with a good bed and shower. Considering that you get your own bath for around $25 a night, and the horrible state of most other hotels in that price point, this is actually a bargain. For a place to sleep between diving, it works fine and you're close to the docks so you avoid walking through the sewage of Semporna.

The only issue I had was trying to communicate with the staff via whatsapp as they don't seem to get how customer service works, but I arrived and stayed here for 4 nights with no issues.

I would recommend the Scuba Junkie's hotel slightly over this, but you can only get a good deal there if you dive with them.

Well located in city of semporna. Close to dive center sipadan divers who offers dives to many islands including famous sipadan .Close to restaurants and other commerces including laundry services . average size rooms. Good value for the price.

Price wise couldnt complain, the place is clean, and the staff are friendly. Noisy in the morning due to street traffic, cars honking etc, but tolerable. Aircond works. For divers, I found the hotel acceptable cos most of the time I will be at the sea.

It comes with the diving package, and no refund. We arrived with a blood stain on Bed sheet, and two towels already black. We request to change Bed sheet and the next one has a shoe print... also they don’t have refund so we stayed for one night and got bug bites . Rest of the nights we stayed else where but have to pay this one still. Very poor experience.

I stayed 2 nights in this hotel after quite some online research.

The main hurdle when diving in Sipadan is the mandatory Sipadan permit.
So if you have limited time to spend around Sipadan you better make sure you will get the guarantee from a dive school that they have reserved a Sipadan permit for you.

Sipadanscuba was the only dive school who could guarantee me a Sipadan permit in combination with a 2 night stay (I simply could not stay longer). All the other hotels/dive schools required a minimum stay of 5 or 6 nights in order to be granted the Sipadan permit.
So I booked my divepackage at Sipadanscuba while being in direct contact with the owner (Jerry Reichart). Subsequently he recommended me to have my accommodation arranged at Holiday Dive Inn (his wife runs the hotel;-)

The hotel is located opposite the dive school which is quite convenient for divers. However the small room was very spartan and tired while the AC was leaking and I couldn’t adjust the temperature. The room should be renovated.

Firstly if you can don't stay in Semporna at all if you can manage it (not part of the rating). It was part of the dive package I booked. There are nicer and newer places nearby which look a lot better than this one.
Room had AC and hot shower. No window in the room, when I checked in (on time) the bed was not made as the sheet was still at the laundry - took me 3 times asking to get it as they couldn't give any indication when it would be ready. I came back to the room after having something to eat and my door was wide open with no one around! I asked the reception who just said oh sorry. I got bitten by something in the room both nights which made sleeping difficult and the bathroom had a slight sewage smell. Reception staff were friendly and helpful enough despite doing karaoke one night - my room was right next to reception

I had to book this accommodation as a part of Sipadan Diving Package. Location wise its deserves all stars , centrally located and around have all dive shops and lots of restaurants , shops and pharmacy. Supermarket - Giant was within 150 m from Hotel.Bus Terminal to Kota Kinabalu was around 10-15 min walking distance.

I booked the most economical room , was provided with Ground Floor room with no Window. Check in was fast and Lady at Reception was friendly to answer any queries with smile.In fact ,I found all the staffs were very friendly and ready to help you with a smile. During check in, I wanted to upgrade to upstairs room with window by paying the difference but, I was not allowed. Room , I stayed was smelly as no inlet for fresh air ,otherwise it was clean. Overall Condition of Room was not good , Floors and walls needs a major revamp.Toilet was clean with good water pressure and had Hot water. Room had two single bed , beds were good enough to rest after whole day of diving. Rooms were cleaned everyday.There was a TV and had only 3 or 4 channel , didn't seems to have cable connection ,so bit boring. No safety box at room , was provided with a locker located at reception area , big enough to store laptops.
To me upstairs rooms looked better and had window. There are many better inns/hotels to stay at same price or paying little more.
On my first day I tried a restaurant at pier and didn't like the food. The one I liked most was located at corner once you come out of the hotel and turn left. Seafoods were very very reasonable priced and tasted excellent to me.
I took a bus on my way back from Semporna and almost took 10 hours to reach Kota Kinabalu. Roads are in good condition , most part of the journey had lots of twist and turns as it crosses few hills on the way.

I stayed here as I booked a scuba course with Sipadan Scuba and it was convenient to just book along side. I regretted the hotel a lot.

I was used to staying in hostels but this hotel was grim. It felt shadey. I felt uncomfortable in my room.

It was very unclean with no need for this. It wasn't just washed out sheets, it was hairs on the bed, stains, the floor was caked in grime and there were nasty brown drip marks down the walls.

It would seem there are two wings, same prices, I ended up in the old one and it was pretty hard to tolerate.

I asked to move but was refused. The lady said my room would be cleaned to next day!!! But the only difference was the wall drips had been wiped over, leaving only mould. My sheets were the same.

Really unpleasant.
I stayed at a hostel nearby, which was a much better option than this. That was called Best Bunk Beds.

I live and work in the area but sometimes I need to sleep in Semporna (I try to avoid it as much as possible).
The hotel is basic and clean, spacious room compared to Sipadan Inn, but smaller than Seafest (any of them). AC working, hot shower working although not much pressure.
Internet had not function during my stay at all, the TV did not work.
Overall I found it overpriced when but better (bigger room) than Sipadan inn, although I happily pay the extra U$4 and sleep in Seafest.

Booked into the Holiday Dive Inn as a part of the diving package with Sipadan Scuba. The Inn is fairly priced and is located in a convenient location as well, with grocery stores and marts about 100m away.
The rooms are well maintained accompanied by a decent daily room service.
Most of the divers with Sipadan Scuba stay with Holiday Dive Inn and is recommended for solo travellers looking to meet interesting people.

No frills, but clean rooms, hot water and A/C (though a bit noisy). Internet works intermittently. Friendly staff.
The town itself is a stinking hole (no other way to describe it), but the food is good and if you come for the diving, it's definitely worth the trip! Please dive responsibly, one can already see the impact tourism has had on the environment!

We had originally booked a different hotel and had a walk around the area before checking in.
The room was clean and bathroom as expected for the price.
OK value and fine for one night, though there was some road noise in the middle of the night that was not ideal!
The hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

Stayed three nights as part of the Sipadan package.

Was expecting much worse (based on reviews here) but our king 'balcony' room was clean, spacious, with a comfy bed, working tv and zero roaches.

Room turned down every day, bathroom a little small but shower pressure fine and Wi-Fi a little weak but good enough for social media, emails etc.

More than acceptable accommodation for two superb days diving in Sipadan.

Let's be honest, Semporna is a grubby little town. It looks like it hasn't had any local love in many a year. The hotels and restaurants feel the same. Everything feels tired and worn out. The room was OK. The aircon functioned, the bed was flat, and the toilet and shower did their job. It just ain't a place to relax in. Even between dive days. There is a chill out area between the two blocks but it has a plastic red roof and inadequate fans. Therefore the light is uncomfortable and it is sweltering hot.
Wifi worked sporadically. We stayed here as part of a dive package with Sipadan Scuba.
Staff were great though!

First of all, it is good to know that you don't go to Semporna to enjoy the city itself.
This is good for diving only.
Holiday dive Inn is very basic.
We arrived and asked the staff to remove the cockroach.
Except this the room was decently clean.
Bedsheets and towels are not neat at all but whatever is on it has been washed, so it is clean dirt!
AC was welcome.
Shower was not hot and flowing extremely slowly.
Can be extremely noisy at some nights.

Good to sleep and spend the day diving

Stayed here for 3 nights whilst scuba diving. Reasonably priced, perfectly clean, quiet and it had adequate facilities. AC worked fine and reception dealt with our simple requests in a friendly and efficient manner. Lockers are outside the room, but that wasn't a bother. Would stay here again without hesitation. Found it to be one of the cheaper options when scouting. Great location too - very near all the action.

Stay there for 5D4N. Basic room with hot shower, aircond, TV, kettle i.e basic things that you really need :-) The room was serviced everyday, comfortable bed. Convenient location, nearby to waterfront & eating place. Friendly & helpful staff. If you need an airport transfer, just inform them, they'll arrange it for you.

Basic room. The aircon is alright. Wi-fi is weak. No safety box, but you can hire a locker downstairs at the lobby, just talk to the receptionist. One thing I dont like about here, is their shower is terrible, the shower water pressure is very low! You hardly can wash your hair if you got long hair.
