I booked through Expedia for a night 212 FJD whereas in the property it was only 179 FJD. So please don’t book through Expedia rather book directly with the property

Nice pool & eel pond

That staff was very accomodating. We were able to keep our bags there on checkout while we visited around town. I have never heard of another motel letting me do that. Top notch service.

Bed wasn’t in good condition

the property was very old there were tvs in the room but didnt work the pool was like a paddling pool. it was okay for the most 2 nights i wouldnt want to stay any longer.

Lovely staff and great view from room with ocean view.

The hotel kept changing me to a different room, that was annoying, the hotel was old fashioned, no functional TV, dusty, gave me allergies, location was good and staff was nice. I would only go back if there is nothing better only. The pool is not great.

Only problem is of additional parking.

Overall hotel was good but as it is mentioned for easy parking, unfortunate there is no hotel parking available. Have to park on the street and the stairs going under the next road. And it is unsafe to park there as there has been a lot of theft reported for the hotel guest vehicles. Car parking should be improved for the tourist & guest for their safety.

The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The staff really nice. The bedroom were smaller but overall really enjoyed it.

We got free water and free breakfast.

I stayed for 4 days but never a day during stay did they clean my room.

I liked the bed, very comfortable.
The chef's behavior in the restaurant was below average.

Service was ok. Staff were friendly. Kitchen staff walking through the kitchen smoking (not good) and also cats running around the property. (in the kitchen too).

My first room’s AC wouldn’t turn on. When the receptionist tried turning the switch on/off the switch fell apart. I was told she’d change my room. I was given two options - one sea-view room with a noisy AC or a silent AC with concrete buildings as view. I chose to bear the noisy AC which I think hadn’t been serviced in years because it started blowing/leaking water when I turned turbo on.

Overall, I had an average time at James Cook Hotel because I was only in Suva for one night to attend a workshop. The major disappointments were that the hotels restaurant closed early ( 9pm?) and nearby restaurants closed at 9, or 10 pm which I am not accustomed to. The other disappointment was the buffet breakfast with limited things of my preference to eat.

Definitely an average place to stay if you only have one night to spend.

They had no television during the Olympics so I had to leave That's the only reason I love the place other than that and Sarah and the bartender at check in was wonderful I don't like that you can't bring your own booze policy and all their stupid rules that you wouldn't know about until you got in your room and read the book if I get charged for anything extra we got a problem.

Staff seemed uninterested in service. Just messing with their phones and talking to each other.
