An Enjoyable Tropical Getaway
Pros:

We have been visiting this hotel for over two decades and its lush tropical gardens, pools and quiet places never disappoint. We were delighted that the head housekeeper, Ivan, was still here after twenty years and continued to care for our every need. The Grand remains a wonderful escape from the cold snowy north.

The Grand ain’t so grand.
Pros:

We’ve been coming here for several years. And we’ve watched this place slowly decline. Spend your gay dollars elsewhere. It’s overpriced mediocrity. The rooms are tired, the mattresses are old. The “breakfast” has gone down hill. They allowed smokers to smoke beyond the smoking area. There is no charm to this place. And now parking is $30 a night, to park on the street. It’s been bought up by straight real estate investors from Israel and they are bleeding it dry. They will eventually tear it down and build expensive housing. And finally, gay men should not be traveling to Florida, which has a governor and legislature that is openly anti-gay. Go to Mexico or one of the Caribbean islands.

Rejuvenation and Repair!!!
Pros:

Paula and Robert were absolutely amazing.
Paula's facial was top notch. I feel like I have brand new skin and Robert's massage was one of the best I've ever had. He took care of all the problem areas I've been having and found some that I didn't even know were there. I definitely will be booking this experience every time I visit Fort Lauderdale!!!

Re-engerized Massage
Pros:

I had an excellent deep tissue massage with Robert at the Grand. He was able to work through some very tight pain points, which definitely a relief. To me the end result is the real test, and I left feeling so relaxed yet energized.

Had a fantastic stay here with great friends from home and made more while here! The hotel is super clean and comfortable and in a great location close to the beach! The staff is amazing and really go out of their way to make you feel valued and comfortable, especially Christian P. - what a great trip!!!

Relaxing start to a vacation
Pros:

Wow. I did an 80 min deep tissue massage with Robert. Professional and friendly guy with very strong hands and forearms. If at any point his hands got tired, I didn't notice. He was also able to work around the plates and screws in my leg (old sports injury) and my ticklish toes. My IT bands resisted but he persisted. A perfect way to destress and relax after a long, moderately turbulent flight.

The general facilities were also nice. Calm, relaxing music, right temperature, heated table, soft linens and towels. Would definitely repeat.

Exceptional Massage Experience

I’ve been getting massages for over 25 years, and I can honestly say my 80 minute massage with Robert was one of the best I’ve ever had, hands down. From the moment the session began, it was clear that he truly understood what my body needed. His techniques are exceptional, thoughtful, and unlike anything I’ve experienced before, and his 20 plus years of experience were evident throughout. The hot towels were a wonderful, deeply relaxing touch that elevated the entire treatment. I would enthusiastically recommend Robert to anyone without the slightest hesitation.

Perfect retreat
Pros:

Stayed one night after my cruise this weekend, and wish I could have stayed longer. It’s a very unique property with multiple pools, and a very friendly staff. My room was not yet renovated, but it was still great. Spacious, clean, and comfortable, with nice amenities.

It was quiet that day but there was still a really good social vibe, with friendly guests of all ages.

I cannot wait to return!

Needs upgrades to justify the price
Pros:

I would rate this resort 3 stars. The grounds, pool, and hot tub areas were beautifully maintained and clearly well cared for. The housekeeping staff also deserves credit—they visited daily and did a nice job with routine cleaning.

Unfortunately, the room itself was a big letdown, especially for the price. Our two-room suite was very plain and basic, and it needed significant updates. Several items were broken, including lamps, drawers, and a window shade. The air conditioners were extremely loud, which made it hard to relax or sleep comfortably. While housekeeping came daily, the room still needed a deeper clean—there was a noticeable amount of sand and dust under the couch. The outdoor couch was heavily stained, and much of the furniture felt very worn. Additionally, the bar was never open during our stay, which was disappointing for a resort experience.

Given the $400–$500 per night rate, the room quality and amenities did not match the cost. With updated rooms, better maintenance, and more consistent amenities, this resort could be much better, but as it stands, it didn’t feel worth the price.

Highly recommended - I had a massage with both Moe and Robert during my recent stays here at the Grand. It’s peaceful, professional, and they both have amazing massages. I’ll be getting another one next time I’m in town!
