Net hotel in rustige wijk van Londen
Pros:

Fijn hotel in rustige buurt, dicht bij metro. Ook leuke ontbijttentjes op loopafstand. Slechts 1 metrohalte van treinstation Kings Cross/ st Pancras

Cons:

Buurt zelf beetje saai ( tenzij je op zoek bent naar een diamanten ring want heeel veel juweliers)

Daily room attendance
Pros:

I was surprised that having paid in excess of £400 for two nights accommodation without breakfast or any other food, my room was not made up and the mini fridge topped up with water, biscuits or muffins.

I hung the 'please make up my room' when I left the hotel c. 11.30 and this had begun changed when I got back after midnight

The Expedia evaluation I have just completed advised me that my room should have been upgraded - it hadn't

Praktisch und gut gelegen
Pros:

Gut gelegen

Cons:

A basement room with no proper view should be disclosed before booking so guests can make an informed choice.
Cons:

I was extremely disappointed with my stay.

I was allocated a room on the lower ground floor (basement), and this was not made clear when I booked. I went back to reception and asked for a room on a higher floor (there are 7 floors in total) but I was told there was no availability. Had I known this was the only room available, I would have booked somewhere else.

The room overlooked nothing but an enclosed lightwell containing boxes and rubbish, so there was effectively no view or natural outlook and it was very unprofessional. Not what I would expect from a supposed “4 star” hotel. It also appeared to be the only guest room on the basement level, situated between a housekeeping store room and a conference room. Throughout my stay there was constant noise from staff accessing the cleaning cupboard, doors shutting, and from people walking overhead.

When you book a hotel room, you reasonably expect a normal guest room above ground with a window looking out onto the outside world, not a basement room in what felt like a service area of the hotel.

This was not good value for money. If the hotel intends to sell basement rooms with an enclosed shaft view, this should be made clear in the room description before guests book so they can make an informed choice. I was not notified or informed the only room available was a basement room. If I had known, I most certainly would have booked another hotel. The accommodation I received was far below my expectations and not what I believed I was booking.
