Stop over on roadtrip as it was pretty much the only hotel on booking.com on our route. The friendliest staff and a fridge full of cold drinks at reception. 24 hour free coffee.
A bit rough and run down. Has seen better days but the bedsheets and towels were clean and the air conditioning working so for the price we payed a good deal. Pleasant city center for food within walking distance and felt safe to walk with a family even after dark.

Good for one night, friendly stuff. It's very basic, bed, bathroom, AC but no chair. I could take my bicycle in the room so it was save, which was quite nice.
Unfortunately the breakfast starts way too late, couldn't join as I had to start riding in the cool morning hours.

Everything at the hotel was terrific for a budget hotel. The town itself doesn't have much to recommend it but it's a good stop if driving between Oaxaca beaches and Chiapas

The property was dated and the bed uncomfortable. But the room was very large and we had 2 dogs. The staff were excellent. We ate there in the evening and had breakfast. Both times the food was excellent

If you are looking for something to stay for one night and are not fuzzy then the hotel is ok. They have a nice garden where they served us still some very basic food. The staff is kind and helpful.
The location is about 20min off the main road and there is nothing there in the township. The other guests were singing until late night and the rooster in the morning, so you better bring your earplugs.
We stayed at the Hotel Bacaanda because it was about halfway between Oaxaca and San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas, knowing that with our large dog we didn't want to drive the whole way in one swing. The staff was nice, the room was clean (they'd originally wanted to put us in what I'd think is considered one of their nicer rooms upstairs, but our dog didn't like the metal slat stairways). So, they moved us over to a ground floor room which was fine by us. There's not a lot to do in Union Hidalgo unless you have friends or family there, so we enjoyed some beers and dinner out by the pool. Breakfast was good and was a nice surprise that it was included in our room rate. If we pass back that way again, I'd certainly consider staying there again.
Super friendly staff and good breakfast
Room had a window but it couldn’t be opened. It smelled very strong of cleaning products and mold. There was no water for most of our stay and I couldn’t shower, when there was it was either too cold or boiling. No toilet seat.
