Canoe Place Inn & Cottages

We will not be returning. While the rooms are cute, the restaurant is terrible - overpriced and tiny menu + they force you into one dining area so the entire time we stayed we could only eat outside - we never got to enjoy the indoor dining room. The lobby doesn't exist - it's just a room with a couple desks in it. The pool area feels like an apartment building pool - bad chaise lounges and pretty bleak. No pool service either unless you walk up to the restaurant bar outside the pool. As is, you have no view and you are on busy roads with a lot of noise! Plus...you are not really in the hamptons - you are on the outskirt so prepare to do a lot of driving if you stay here. All and all, not a great experience. One bright spot is the staff - they were incredible.

This is my 3rd visit to Canoe Place and there is a reason I keep coming back. Above all-the service is outstanding. Every person you encounter is pleasant and consistently looking to help. They make you feel incredibly welcome. The property is gorgeous. I’ve stayed in one of their stand alone cottages which was wonderful and had a kitchen, porch, fireplace and individual parking. I’ve also stayed at the hotel which has beautiful, well kept rooms. Both are comfortable and spacious. Highly recommend the spacious and well laid out spa suite. I also stayed in one of the balcony rooms which had great outdoor space and a tub and shower. The hotel has an onsite pool and restaurant. The restaurant has a perfect blend of bar food and high end food, indoor and outdoor seating and a nice outdoor bar. And lastly they are dog friendly. Not as in tolerant of dogs but truly remembered my frenchie Pedro’s name and greeted him by name which made my stay even more pleasant. The housekeeping team were super helpful and every team member went above and beyond. I love Canoe Place and so grateful to everyone there for such a wonderful experience each and every time.

Fantastic location, easy access to property amenities and quick drive to various dining locations! Off property recommendation would be the Rumba Island Bar, nice water views.

I stayed at Canoe Place as part of a women's crafting and networking retreat. There were about 25 of us in the group and the staff at Canoe Place were nothing short of phenomenal - despite our being there during the off season. The property itself is gorgeous and somehow I managed to score the honeymoon suite, which was so luxurious and expansive. Lovely experience - just wish that it was easier to get to from the NYC airports.

The Canoe Palace is a beautiful and wonderful place to stay.
Rooms are spacious and clean, bathroom are gorgeous, the beds were so comfortable, the food is really good, breakfast, and in room dining, and the team is as efficient as friendly.
Can't wait to return.

Had a lovely stay at Canoe Place Over the winter break between Christmas and New Year’s. The hotel is beautiful. The rooms were well appointed in the staff was very thoughtful and kind. Would highly recommend for a quiet weekend away to relax and recharge.

Was there in early December with my three sisters celebrating a special birthday. The staff was very accommodating and the Inn is so nicely decorated for the holiday. Everyone was so nice and went out of their way to make us comfortable. We stayed in a cabin on site and it was well appointed and comfortable. Would definitely stay there again.

The room was beautiful. The dog in the other room was problematic (pet friendly rooms should be away from the other rooms) and the continental breakfast left a lot to be desired, especially considering the price of the room and it being off-season.

The Boathouses at Canoe Place were the perfect way to enjoy a large-party (we were 6) Birthday weekend in the Hamptons! Like our very own, brand new house with all the perks of a high-end hotel including incredible staff and hotel amenities included. Highly recommend for group trips!

My stay at the Canoe Place Inn Waterfront Residences was exceptional from start to finish. I was warmly greeted by a lovely staff member who explained everything I needed to know — from key code access to my townhouse to the wide range of amenities, including dining deliveries, spa treatments, a private saltwater pool and jacuzzi (equipped with a handicapped chairlift for added accessibility), and a fully equipped fitness room.

What made this stay truly special was the personalized service. I could text a dedicated number for any questions, order food, or book the inn’s courtesy vehicle, and everything was taken care of promptly. This attention to detail added a remarkable sense of ease and comfort.

The residence itself was beautifully curated, with purified water, top-of-the-line appliances, thoughtfully selected products by The Grown Alchemist, and a stunning exterior lined with beautiful flowers and beach grass. It made for a serene and restorative retreat for me and my salty dog.

Dining at the inn was another highlight — I enjoyed Clams Casino, a lobster roll with shoestring fries, blueberry and coconut crumb cake, a cinnamon roll, and a refreshing beet salad. I even spotted freshly baked-to-order chocolate chip cookies on the menu to try next time.

With coffee by Hampton Coffee Company, calming teas, and Infused Shirley Temple Dots from the minibar, every detail was considered. I left feeling relaxed, grateful, and already looking forward to my next stay.

Great service, super clean rooms. First class all the way. They had beach passes for beach parking (which you need for most beaches), beach chairs, towels and provided everything we needed. Our first time to the Hamptons and glad we stayed here.

Canoe Place is our new happy place! My teen daughter and I stayed here for a mother-daughter getaway and we didn't want to leave.

The hotel is beautiful with flowers and foliage surrounding the Hampton style buildings and the rooms are so pretty! Loved all the furniture and amenities on the room.

We loved eating at the Good Ground restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The dishes were flavorful and waiters provided great service. Best fries! Best granola!

The front desk staff are delightful, helping us with any questions all of our requests.

Our dog enjoyed his stay too! Apparently the beds are so comfy, he didn't want to leave either!

Canoe Place is a great option for a family as the spacious, well appointed residences give everyone room to spread out. Canoe place had thought of everything.

Canoe Place is gem! The rooms are beautiful, the pool area so relaxing and well maintained, the restaurant excellent and all of the staff friendly and accommodating. Within an easy drive to Southampton and Sag Harbor to enjoy the shopping and restaurants and a short 10 minute ride to Ponquogue Beach.

Don't look anywhere else in the area to stay. You will not be disappointed.

Just too far from any type of good area. Property itself is gorgeous but wasn’t as good as our last day. AC was a big problem sadly and also we paid in full via Expedia but the property still charged us at checkout. It took four days and sadly four phone calls for it to finally be resolved.

The room was amazing, everything you could want in a hotel room, beautiful patio with table and comfortable seating, bed was extremely comfortable and bathroom was stunning and roomy.

The Canoe Place Inn is exceptional. The main building where we stayed was beautiful and comfortable in every aspect. Our room was beautifully decorated. The staff and service we received were notable. If you are comfortable with the price of a stay I don’t think you will be disappointed. We weren’t.
