My husband and I stayed here for 6 nights during the Telluride Film Festival and for that purpose the location was excellent. That is the only positive comment that we are able to make about this facility.
Everything other than the location. We paid approximately $660. US per night for our standard double room in this small very tired looking ski lodge in Telluride. The hotel is reached via a footbridge over a river. There is no air conditioning and no elevator. The upstairs is accessed by a winding staircase. Our room was right next to the front door and a tiny reception cubicle and we could hear everyone coming and going. There is inadequate soundproofing between rooms and we could hear the people in the room above us walking around and showering at 6 in the morning. In our room one window did not close properly and another window was held together with duct tape. There was peeling stucco on the bathroom ceiling. The bathroom was tiny and the shower stall barely large enough for one person to turn around in. The room was represented to have a patio. It did not. It was not disclosed in the Booking.com property description that the hotel was not providing any housekeeping services, including fresh sheets and towels over the course of our 6 night stay. The TV really only provided streaming services on your own accounts. The room rate included a breakfast which is the worst breakfast we have ever encountered in over 45 years of worldwide travel. The lodge has an onsite manager who we could rarely find. On the third morning she failed to show up to prepare and serve breakfast for any of the hotel guests. With the help of some locals we were then able to locate the office of the property manager, Alpine Lodging Telluride. We advised of our complaints and were subsequently advised that my husband and I would each be refunded $50. (as would a friend who was travelling with us and staying in another room at the hotel) notwithstanding that the management only values a missed breakfast at $7.50 a day. They also thereafter provided clean towels daily and changed the sheets once. The management has refused our request to provide any further compensation.
