Room for improvement
Pros:

Excellent location, large rooms, comfy beds, generous housekeeping replenishment unlike some hotels, a la carte was well made. Mostly good service.

Cons:

Slow service response, lack of consideration for senior citizens such as providing non slip mats for the bathroom, basic accessibility such as ramps missing. Breakfast was cold and there were limited options. Management needs to invest in proper food warmers. In room food service - missing menu. First call for the menu, then call again to order. Phones stopped working, flickering lights or lights not working. Lighting in rooms is very dim, especially the washroom. Basics considering the price they ask for. Not justified.

Decent stay but not worth the money
Pros:

The property is located in right place. Walkable distance to beach and all the restaurants around.

Cons:

We booked the property mainly for spa. But ended up getting lot of body pains. Not really what you expect for the amount of money you pay for it.

Otherwise the ambience and all are overhyped I felt. Nothing great as such in terms of the old style. Not very bad also. But just for the ambiance, I felt it was bit overpriced.

A gem in Pondy for location and comfort!
Pros:

It was a beautiful, historic setting that exceeded expectations for boutique hotels in India. The staff were excellent, so responsive! The food was among the best meals we ate in our stay in India. It was so cosy to come home to and the pool was an absolute pleasure after very long and hot days! I will definitely return here if in Pondy.

Cons:

It was our first time to India, and realizing that things are not new and there is a lot of construction everywhere took some getting used to! But the Grand Hotel was clean, very cool for sleeping and so welcoming.

Excellent
Pros:

The aesthetics of the hotel are well done. It does give colonial vibes, but at the same time doesn't fail to feel modern. The artwork on the room wall was a good touch. The marble flooring hit the right notes. Overall I enjoyed staying here a lot.

Pros:

a big shout out to Miss Maheshwari and her team for being professional and courteous and Miss kamali for being informative about the history of the building. And the chef was too good. However the management apply shortcuts for some dishes like Thai green curry where they put pre packaged powder which does not show the reputation of the restaurant MIRA

Pros:

Feels very calm as soon as you enter the property. The aesthetics and interiors are amazing. Entire staff is very accommodating and helpful. Food is fantastic. Rooms are spacious and well planned. We had a toddler with us and got a comfortable baby cot. Restaurant accommodated custom requests for baby food. Overall great calm vibes and cozy stay. Pool was also clean and nice. Location is great too!

Cons:

Wi-Fi seemed a bit weak

Great place for a family vacation.
Pros:

The location is near the Promenade , a lot of cafés and also convenient for shopping. The property is clean and the service is good. The restaurant food was also delicious.

Cons:

No proper parking available. Parking is on the road. Not many facilities other than a swimming pool.
