The hotel really needs to improve its room cleaning service considering they charge a premium price.

The location was excellent and the bed was comfortable.

Cons:

Room cleaning is seriously flawed. The pillows, towels, washbasin and shower door were stained and dirty. When we checked in the previous occupant’s used towel was still in the bathroom. There’s no hand washing soap and no facial tissues. The tables and floors were sticky and unclean. The kettle in the room wasn’t working and we had to ask for it be replaced three times.

Central location, the hotel was clean and great service.

Cons:

I felt the rate per night stay was a bit expensive. For travellers travelling by train or bus in the late evening, this could be an issue.

Everything was absolutely outstandig.
Pros:

We specifically booked the AJ Grand Hotel in Mangalore because we were so impressed by the Ranjitha Palace Hotel in Udupi. Both hotels belong to the AJ Group. The AJ Grand in Mangalore is equally well-managed; the staff is consistently attentive and kind, and the rooms are excellent. Everything is clean and well-maintained.
Just like the one in Udupi, the hotel’s vegetarian restaurant is sensational. All in all, it is a first-class hotel with a value for money that is hard to beat. We originally planned only a short stay in Udupi and Mangaluru, but thanks in no small part to these two great AJ Group hotels, we ended up staying two and a half weeks in Udupi and one and a half weeks in Mangaluru.
