Decent low-cost rest stop near the Cotswold Way

It was fine for my purposes of visiting the area.
Pros:

Location was perfect for attending a celebration party at Dunkertons, just down the road.

Cons:

I really didn't like the 'no staffed Reception' concept although understand it's probably the way things are moving. I did not receive the promised emails the night before to give me the codes for the outside door and my room but when I rang the number on the pre-visit email, on the morning of my stay, the woman who answered, (can't remember her name, sorry), was polite, reassuring and efficient - the relevant details were texted to me within 5 minutes and she checked that I'd received the text. Thank you.

Had there been someone on Reception on arrival, I may well have ordered breakfast; there was otherwise no clear way to order it - although, it was probably an 'online' option?

Happy on the whole and would stay again
Pros:

Nice and comfortable good value for money.

Cons:

No bed side lamp so had to get into bed in darkness.

Pros:

Kontaktloses Einchecken hat geklappt. Das Zimmer war nett, das Bett bequem. Frühstück kostet extra. Habe ich mir gespart, weil mich das Abendessen nicht überzeugt hat und ich das Frühstück zu teuer fand. Kaffee und Tee kosten extra.

Cons:

Die Lage ist für Wanderer auf dem Cotswold Way nicht optimal. Vom Weg aus läuft man etwa 1,5km an einer stark befahrenen Landstraße entlang.
Dafür gibt es eine Tankstelle ganz in der Nähe, in der man sich für den weiteren Weg verpflegen kann.

Ideal when walking The Cotswold Way.
Pros:

I found the Charlton Boutique Hotel easy to find on the approach to Charlton Kings. The self service system worked well and I was able to get in and pick up my luggage efficiently. The room was warm and well decorated with a good space. Everything dod what it was supposed to do. I didn't use the restaurant. I felt confident to leave my bag to be picked up when I left in the morning. Does what it says on the tin!
Perfectly placed for walkers on the Cotswolds Way and a great simple one nighter if that is what you need. I had my tea at Dunkertons which had a great atmosphere and is only a few hundred yards away from the hotel.

Good but could be better
Pros:

Staff and location were good. Rooms were OK but the beds were comfortable.

Cons:

Some of the fixtures and fittings were tired and the showers were not very clean
