Location, cleanliness
Newer, good location. Housekeeping staff very friendly.
No pool. Upon check in waited about 10 minutes for someone to come to desk. Requested via text more towels and toilet paper and they said they would bring but they never did.
Clean, comfortable, reliable
Nothing; or stray was great
It was clean and the lobby was nice if you had a family. Games and a place to gather
Beds weren’t the most comfortable
I'm actually at the property as I write this. This is the first Tru that I've stayed in so I didn't come in with any preconceived ideas about it. I guess the idea of the property is to be cool and not stuffy. The problem is that they're trying too hard. Everywhere one looks there are "clever" little signs with cutesy sayings and affirmations. The room is the epitome of that approach. What passes for "furniture" looks like low-end stuff from IKEA. There are no dressers with drawers and no proper closet. Everything has a shelf. If there were four people staying in a room, I'm not sure where all their belongings would go because there's no room to stash them. The only place to hang anything is a pipe with around 4 feet of hanging space over yet another shelf.
The bed was genuinely comfortable, though, and the shower was mostly good. I say "mostly" because the shelf in it is strangely mounted about a foot off the floor for some reason making it annoying to pick up anythingng you need.
While most of my complaints are about design choices, breakfast is certainly a place where they really need to put some attention at this price point. Their mass production pancake machines are, apparently, supposed to be a selling point. The things that come out are no way appealing. Even worse is whatever that is that they're trying to pass off as scrambled eggs. The sliced sausage was not too bad. They also have the worst, most watered-down "orange juice" I've ever attempted to drink.
Maybe I'm too old to get the vibe they're trying to produce here but, if this is what Hilton is doing with all Tru hotels, I'm out. This is my first and last stay at one.
