The Selwyn Hotel

Lovely small hotel, I’ve visited 3 times in about 4 months. Always a nice, comfy, quiet room that is great for a good night’s sleep. Terrific location in Richmond and above all, a wonderful and caring staff.

Incredible location a short walk to Richmond Green and the sites of the area. Short bus ride to Twickenham Stadium for rugby matches. We will be back!

My experience there was excellent. Conveniently located near the Richmond Station, staff was super helpful and friendly, room was lovely. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Outstanding hotel, highly recommend. Excellent friendly staff made us feel very welcome. We got a basic double room which was small but efficient. It did have small bedside tables on each side of the bed and a small desk with chair. Nice little nook held the coffee and tea service. Shower pressure was great, linens were high quality, bed was comfortable. We did have drinks in the bar/seating area after returning from dinner and had a lovely visit with the front desk staff. Lots of dining options and coffee shops nearby. Perfect for a night or two but I would want a bigger room if we were staying longer. Opening up two suitcases for an extended time would be hard to do in this room. Note that Richmond is close to Heathrow and you will hear airplanes until midnight and starting at 6am no matter where you are. The hotel has good insulation so we had no trouble sleeping, but we could definitely hear the jets.

Have stayed a few times before but never in a cabin room. Like a shoe cupboard, no room to move. Great location and parking but wouldn’t stay again.

It was charming—just what I was looking for. Front desk staff was very helpful.

Staff were excellent and went above and beyond, super clean too! Perhaps could have been a bit more generous with the breakfast portions, but still super tasty!

Liked the hotel. Reception staff lovely and friendly, hotel very handy to town centre etc. however cleanliness not wonderful, we went out for the day and came back. Toilet area def not cleaned. Biscuit packet still in the floor got the morning. Not great

Minutes from shopping, 10 min walk to train station, 10 minutes to Ted Lasso Pub, Richmond Park 15min walk. Great central location.

Very Posh, loved the heated bathroom floor. Breakfast was wonderful, worth every pence (penny).

Room is UK sized so if you are expecting a large North American hotel room remember UK and European rooms ain’t that. Our room had a queen bed but still didn’t feel cramped.

I struggle to think of a negative if only to add some legitimacy to my review but can’t think of a single thing.

Definitely the nicest hotel we stayed during our 2 week UK visit. Will be back, hotel was one of the highlights.

The staff especially Hale on reception were very helpful and polite. The parking is expensive but it is London. If you’ve a lot of luggage and your larger people do not book a cabin room!

We had a wonderful stay at The Selwyn. It was such a great location. A short walk to the Richmond High Street, Twickenham and the shops. Bus stops and the trains close by. Bed was very comfortable and the staff were lovely. Thanks for having us !!

All the staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. It makes such a difference to the overall enjoyment of a stay.

We loved our stay at the Selwyn, and we will definitely be back! We enjoyed the bar and the outstanding breakfast. Our rooms were tastefully decorated, very comfortable, and so quiet as to provide a great night's sleep!
