Clean, location, breakfast
Great location. Friendly staff.
The chair in our room completely broke apart when I sat in it(I’m 175lbs btw). The painting in our room was sloppily secured to the wall with 2 sided tape. It detached from the wall in the middle of the night, almost falling on us. The sound scared us both awake. The scale in the bathroom did not work and the steamer had gunk in it like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time.
The shower pressure was very weak but the temp was even worse. Boiling hot or frigid cold. Took 5+ mins to get the right temp, one tap at a time of the faucet. And for the toilet it is not very private. Glass door and not its own closet - very open bathroom. If you’re alone no biggie but not ideal for sharing. I used the lobby restroom more than once a day
Comfy rooms, perfect location, great gym, comfortable bed.
Not able to set room temperature. It's done central.
Breakfast is outside! Which is not great when its cold like this weekend was. It also doesn't help if there are gas heaters that have the glass to protect the flame. As a result there was no heat being distributed. Brrrr
The hotel was clean and the service was phenomenal. In particular, the concierge staff- Gustavo, Regina, and Isaac- were unbelievably helpful. I started talking with them months in advance via email to plan our trip and all their recommendations were perfect. Then when we arrived, they were the most helpful in every sense. For example, they noticed many kids were interested in playing pool in the lobby so they started a family pool tournament. Another example is both my mom and I got sick on this trip and Gustavo and Isaac asked so many times if they could get us anything and how they could help. I have stayed in so many hotels around the world- and these three staff members really set the Mondrian CDMX apart. Thank you Gustavo, Regina, y Isaac!
Nothing really
Rooms
We enjoyed our holiday stay at Mondrian - neighborhood was safe and walking distance to many amenities. Carlos and the rest of the staff made us very comfortable and were able to assist when we had requests which made our Xmas away from home extra special! Jaime and the staff at the coffee shop and bar were also amazing. We would definitely visit again.
Location of hotel is great in Condesa with lots of good cafes and restaurants around. Rooms were clean but service was subpar. We reached late in the night and there was no hand soap or amenities in the room which was strange. In the3 nights that we spent there, housekeeping never refilled the coffee pods for the Nespresso. Now if we wanted to travel with our own soap and coffee pods, would have booked an Airbnb but we expected better from the hotel.
Entire team treated my wife and I with such respect and patience. Thank you all! I can't wait to return and when I do it'll definitely be back here!
I enjoyed my stay at Mondrian Condesa—its prime spot in trendy Condesa got a solid 4.5/5 from me.
Rooms felt stylish at, with beautiful artwork and comfy setups.
Staff at front desk and concierge were super attentive, and housekeeping nailed it, though WiFi was not stable.
I am writing this review after a very upsetting and stressful experience that should never have happened.
I booked a fully prepaid package at the Mondrian Mexico City Condesa through Lastminute.com, including flights, accommodation and transfers, and paid over £6,000 in advance. Upon arrival, I provided my credit card solely for incidentals (as is standard). At checkout, I settled the incidentals separately using my own card.
However, I later discovered that the hotel had charged over 85,000 MXN (approx £3,500) directly to my card without consent, duplicating the accommodation charge that had already been prepaid.
What shocked me most was not only that this happened, but that the hotel:
• Showed no urgency in investigating,
• Did not communicate clearly, and
• Never apologised, despite acknowledging they had made the error.
It took weeks of me contacting the hotel and multiple calls to both my bank and Lastminute.com before Mondrian finally admitted the mistake and processed a refund. The financial impact and distress this caused was significant, especially during an already difficult time.
To be clear:
Lastminute.com confirmed they had paid the hotel using their virtual credit card.
Therefore, this should never have happened.
In the end, I did receive the refund, but only because I persisted relentlessly, not because the hotel handled the matter responsibly.
I strongly feel Mondrian should review their processes, how they handle payment disputes and, most importantly, how they communicate with their customers when the error is theirs.
The hotel itself is lovely, but the way this was handled has left a sour taste and I cannot recommend staying here based on this experience
