My stay at Sendero Hotel was nothing short of exceptional. The grounds are lush, green, and beautifully maintained, creating a peaceful and luxurious atmosphere. The amenities were top-notch, and the easy access to the beach made it the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure.
What truly sets Sendero apart is the staff—they are warm, genuine, and make you feel like family. Their authenticity and kindness embody the true pura vida spirit and left me feeling calm, centered, and inspired.
The food was world class, with every meal fresh and full of flavor. Sendero isn’t just a hotel, it’s an experience that blends elegance, balance, and authenticity.

Everything! Was such a special, quaint place to stay. The staff was so warm, inviting, and helpful throughout my stay. The food in their restaurant was some of the best in town.
My room was a little humid but it was rainy season so I understood.

We stayed in room 15, king suite with a sofa bed that was impossible to use… it truly needs to be replaced if , in our last night staff needed to bring a real bed.
I just returned from my second visit to Sendero, and it truly feels like home. The design of the hotel is stunning, and the staff is absolutely exceptional. They take the time to get to know you, remember you, and make you feel like part of the family. The restaurant is a standout, offering the most delicious menu I've ever had the pleasure of enjoying. The pool is a serene retreat, the perfect spot to unwind with a good book after a day of surfing. The yoga and surf instructors, especially Lauren and Rodrigo, have made each of my visits unforgettable. I can't recommend Sendero enough – it's an experience that I will continue to cherish and share with others.
I got Covid at your property. The water in the pool and shower smelled like sewage.

The two highlights of our stay at Sendero were the hotel restaurant (evening bar staff in particular) and the hotel's proximity to the beach.
Lack of amenities for a luxury hotel really stood out as a negative for us. Rooms are small for the price, which could be fine if there were other complimentary benefits, such as free breakfast, free exercise classes, etc. to make up for that. There were never enough lounge chairs in the pool area for us to nab a spot, and guests swarmed around the coffee area in the mornings to try to catch a cup and possibly a piece of banana bread (which was delicious) before they ran out. Although the restaurant was always well-staffed, it felt like service and support for hotel guests was lacking. Towards the end of our stay, the pool smelled of algae, which was off putting. Construction next door and smells of sewage were prominent on many days, which prompted us to leave the hotel grounds when we might otherwise have relaxed on site. Overall, just not the experience we expected nor was it consistent with other small, luxury boutique hotels that we've stayed at around the world.

Beautiful hotel, very close to the beach. Staff was very friendly and went out of their way to make sure we wanted for nothing. The restaurant food was excellent. We stayed in the jungle room with the outside shower.
