Hard to get to but it was worth it. Best view ever of Arenal volcano. Beautiful surroundings. Ten minutes from the hanging bridges. They send you to a gorgeous view restaurant for breakfast. Air conditioning was great. Comfortable bed with view of Arenal. They even have a jacuzzi hot tub in the room. Private patio with bistro to have a glass of wine while enjoying the mountain and gorgeous surroundings. Price was under $100. Coffee in room. Fridge, microwave and kitchen to cook if need be. Loved it!
It was quick and easy check in. The tub drain did not work so we didnt use it. There was never anyone at the desk in the morning for service. We had to leave a note on the door to get toilet paper when we ran out.
I am not sure it very far in on a dirt Road
Amazing place and wonderful service! Easy to drive to, a bit of a rocky road but was NOT an issue to get up there. Definitely need a 4x4 SUV so the drive is safe.
Great boutique style, cabin-like atmosphere.
Arenal Roca Suites is approx. a 40 min drive from La Fortuna. The last km is a bumpy ride but we felt this was part of the charm!
Caesar and his colleague took great care of us. Breakfast was delivered to our suite in a basket, fruit, granola, yogurt, bread, jams and orange juice. Other meals are your responsibility, remember to stop for groceries before you arrive, there is limited access to restaraunts!
Caesar is knowldgeable about the area and took time to show us frogs and tucans.
The view of Arenal Valcano is spectacular from any of the suites!
There are few human beings in this area so if getting away from it all is what you want, this is the place!!!
Great location to see volcano but the room was hot had one wall unit and kept turning off and did not put out enough air to cool the place
So beautiful! Quiet spot with a comfortable bed and beautiful views. Caesar was amazing and helped us set up some tours and transportation. Next time we come, we will likely rent a car, as some cars didn’t want to go here because the road is very rocky.
Best location … not a great road to drive up there but you will enjoy every moment when you stay since nothing is around you except jungle and volcano view
Adventurous location. Very nice with an amazing view. Close to rain forest park for tour.
Great place and service but getting there requires 4 wheel drive vehicles Road condition in the mountains horrible and scary. Took us 45 to drive one mile. Almost seriously damaged my rental 4 door car. Stayed only 1 night and we left because torrential rain for next 7 days would of made it impossible for us to leave. The host should inform future tenant that 4wd vehicle is must. Please refund 50%
Our room was cabin #6 with the volcano view right from our bed. You have to have a 4X4 car to get there but is 100% worth it.
Very pretty place. Good price
Had a great time here, Cesar was great he took me to loom for frogs at night and i got some great pictures. Differently enjoyed my stay.
Property was clean, spacious and it had all you needed in regards to toiletries. Breakfast was delicious and contained variarity. It was served in the balcony which was a nice touch. Now, what we did not like was that location was difficult to get to, description never mentioned you needed a 4x4 to get there, which fortunately we had. GPS was not accurate (not the hotel fault). Also internet was not working all 3 days we stayed. And yes we where on vacation, but due to the location of the property we did not have any cellphone connection, we relied on wifi. Peace of mind in case of emergency. I do have to add hotel was kind enough to allow us to check out one day early and refunded the money for that night.
The view!
We loved the view of Arenal volcano and all the birds that were visible from our deck.
An absolute peaceful and romantic place to stay. The only downfall was that you had to be on the patio to have wifi and there is no cell towers for data.
When we checked in and Arith took us into the room there were dead bugs all over the floor and many more still flying around. He went and got a broom to sweep up the dead ones. Later that night I realized a bunch of tiny ants on the wall and was going to let Arith know the next day. The next day the ants were everywhere and covering my computer and my cpap machine. Just hundreds all over everything and I messaged to let Arith know. His response was he had some insecticide. I messaged to see if he was at the office and after 15 minutes I walked over and found him outside. He gave me a can of insecticide and then said that were in the wildlife and ants and bugs should be expected. Ive stayed at a few hotels around Arenal and this was the first time I have ever dealt with so many bugs and staff not willing to do something themseleves to correct the issue. Also, I was supposed to get breakfast daily but he only ever gave me one pass. I didnt want to deal with him anymore after the whole bug issue.
The property and rooms are fantastic, secluded in a picturesque setting. If the clouds break up, the view of the volcano is stunning.
Getting to it, however, proved treacherous, as the property is approx. 1 mile off the main road, on a dirt/gravel road full of pot holes and small boulders. There is also a very steep incline which my rental car had difficulty climbing, losing power on the ascent. I had to coast backwards to get a running start at it both days we were there, ending up in the ditch the first time. A powerful, high profile vehicle is necessary to access this property safely.
This hotel is in a very beautiful location. Everything was in excellent condition and we really enjoyed our stay. The manager is very knowledgeable of the area and helped us with good advice for planning our activities each day. Look forward to going back.
