A little expensive for what is offered
Pros:

Ideally located to explore the area’s great hiking trails

Cons:

The walls are thin. I could hear multiple rooms playing music or watching TV. The free breakfast is also almost entirely composed of sweet items not appropriate with people with dietary restrictions.

On-site restaurant with outside seating.

Cons:

TV/Cable was not available. Over two days it was not repaired.
Hot coffee was not ready upon 4:47 am check-out.
Check-out was delayed since receptionist was not able to print my receipt. Receptionist had to call her supervisor to obtain procedure to produce the receipt.
Proximity to County Emergency Building due to night-time sirens.

Disappointed for the price
Pros:

Property location was great and close to a lot of restaurants.

Cons:

The beds were extremely uncomfortable. The mattress springs were painful. The pillows were deformed and filing inside was clumped. Hardly got any sleep. Curtains were too thin so there was light coming inside at all times.

Simple, clean, convenient. A good place to stay!
Pros:

Great privately-owned hotel, with convenient off-street parking and a restaurant/tap house on site! Perfect for stopping on a motorcycle trip, where I don't like to have to ride to dinner after getting a shower and relaxing.
Rooms are simple but modern and clean. Staff very friendly. Only reason I didn't give it five stars is the very sparse continental breakfast offering, and the restaurant doesn't open until 11am. I will stay here again!

Bring a Sleep Mask
Pros:

The Hermitage was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. The light-blocking curtains are pretty, but light pours into the room from the top of the drape. Security lights + minimally blocking drapes necessitate the use of a sleep mask…unless you are accustomed to sleeping with a night light on. (No judgment) We were in a King Room w/o kitchenette. The bathroom sink area was very little. For the price, I would not choose this hotel, again. Note…Luckily, I packed two sleep masks.

Wonderful hospitality and a very clean and comfortable room.
Pros:

The word delightful really describes the staff. They went out of their way to accommodate a special request. When I mentioned a possible improvement they might make, they were disturbed there was the remotest hint of a problem, asked if I needed anything to help, and assured me my suggestion would be passed on.

Great Stay, Renovated, Clean, Pricey
Pros:

The Staff is great and always helpful. The hotel itself is gorgeous and has been redone recently to be more modern. In doing so they e really elevated the Petersburg WV experience.

Great room sizes with beautiful white linens. The pillows are great, furniture in rooms are nice.
We stayed in a room with a walk-in shower pan and a shower curtain, no big deal until I go to shower, somehow the shower curtain blocked a drain or was wicking water out, but it definitely got water in the floor from a regular short shower. Had to clean it up. Not a big deal but the execution here could be better to help keep the hotel up. I was worried about damages if you didn't notice and flood the whole floor.

Rooms are 'sound proof's but that doesn't include the doors- was not a problem but when we were leaving in the morning our door slammed by accident and it can be loud.

The negatives are short: Price- the rooms aren't crazy expensive, but you're pricing level with Hilton, Marriott, Etc and it is definitely the best place I've seen/stayed in Petersburg, but there was no fitness facility, pool, they offer a Continental breakfast, but maybe on weekends offer a hot breakfast from the cafe in town.
