Beautiful and extremely comfortable Solar hotel. Very comfortable rooms, great breakfast, very friendly staff. Very nice spa with an internal and external swimming pools. Right by a beautiful river and 5 mins walk to Arcos de Valdevez. Highly recommend

A lovely and secluded space to relax. The food options were plentiful and delicious. The pool/spa area was relaxing and the pictures on the website do not show how spacious it feels once you are there.
Staying at this hotel has turned into a nightmare. My husband and I arrived on Sunday to spend our vacation here. On Monday, when we went to the pool, we found it dirty, and the jacuzzi was very filthy. The Turkish steam room was not working. The spa and pool were one of the reasons we chose this hotel. Throughout the day, we went to the reception several times to ask when the pool and jacuzzi would be cleaned. On Tuesday, nothing had changed. We had to go to the reception three more times to get someone to come and clean. I wrote a letter to the hotel manager but never received a response.
Eventually, a staff member came, skimmed the pool for 10 minutes, and left. The pool water remains murky, full of bugs, and the jacuzzi is unusable because it continues to be dirty.
I will also write separately about the hotel's terrible service. It’s now the third day that I can’t use the facilities I paid for, and no one at the hotel is doing anything to resolve these basic issues.

Can't say enough good things about this resort! Where to start? Service was beyond reproach, property was spotless and and perfect in every detail. Food was great, specially breakfast! Location was close to all main attractions. Even the price was a surprise!! I'd give it 5 stars for the service!!!
