The rooms was very spacious. Very conveniently located. Bed and breakfast pillow were also comfortable.

Fell short.
Pros:

Great location. Steps to everything on the Duro River. Breakfast was very good a lot of hot and cold options.

Cons:

When we arrived after 10pm there is little lighting and not the best area at night. Our driver said he would wait while we got in the hotel.
Then we went to our room and found it was not what we booked. It had a view of a building across the alley.
This was fixed the next day when were able to change rooms, this should not have occurred.
The breakfast attendant had to make coffees and cook eggs etc. When it was busy there were long waits for coffee while he was in the kitchen cooking.
Both rooms we were in #1 and #19 had mold in the showers in the corners.

Great for families
Pros:

Good and friendly service, very clean, everything in good working order and maintained to a high standard. A lovely room, perfect for families travelling with young children.

Cons:

Unfortunately the restaurant was closed during our stay, which would have been good to know in advance, however we discovered many family friendly restaurants in the area, so this turned out to not be a problem.

Outstanding hotel with sophisticated management.
Pros:

Reception staff were outstanding. Douro River front view from our room 12. Very well-decorated and designed historic building. Comfortable bed. Excellent elevator.

Very comfortable bed and nicely furnished. Very clean. Reasonably spacious room with kitchen facilities. Supplied filtered water throughout our stay. Staff were very helpful and pleasant

Cons:

Our room was overlooked by the pool area and the bar facilities were within a metre of our kitchen area. This might be a problem for some in the summer months when the pool is open? Could be noisy at the front of the property which has a delightful view but is beside a busy road. Quieter at night.
