(a) All amounts expressed to be payable under a Finance Document by any Party to the Hotel which (in whole or in part) constitute the consideration for any supply for VAT purposes are deemed to be exclusive of any VAT which is chargeable on that supply & if VAT is or becomes chargeable on any supply made by the Hotel to any Party under a Finance Document and such Hotel is required to account to the relevant tax authority for the VAT, that Party must pay to such Hotel (in addition to and at the same time as paying any other consideration for such supply) an amount equal to the amount of the VAT (and Hotel must promptly provide an appropriate VAT invoice to that Party).Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. The architecture of the hotel is undeniably impressive, and the exterior design of the Katara Towers makes a strong first impression. The lobby is grand and visually beautiful, and the sea views are definitely one of the best parts of the stay. The overall appearance gives you the feeling of a true luxury hotel at first.
What didn’t you like about the property?
Unfortunately, beyond the appearance, the experience did not match the price or the Fairmont reputation. At check-in, the receptionist immediately told us they were hosting two weddings and were extremely busy, which felt unwelcoming—as if regular guests were not the priority.
The hotel was overcrowded because of these events, breakfast service was very slow (sometimes up to 25 minutes for food), and even the Sky Bar was closed because of private events, which was very frustrating. One of the reasons for choosing this hotel was exactly to enjoy those facilities and the view, so arriving and discovering we had no access was disappointing.
Cleanliness was also below expectations, with visible stains on white leather-like surfaces in the room. On one evening, we returned to our room and found that housekeeping had removed the trash bag from the bin but had simply left the full garbage bag in the middle of the room instead of taking it away. For a hotel at this level, this was honestly shocking.
The coffee at breakfast was poor, the elevators were very slow and there was no proper separation between guest and service elevators, which made the experience feel less refined. The rooms were overly high-tech in an impractical way, and surprisingly there wasn’t even a proper mirror.
For this price point, the hotel is simply not at the level it should be.
