New, modern hotel located right across the street from the Central mall. Room was good sized, with a nice balcony from which the sea could be seen in the distance. All you need is within easy walking distance, including restaurants, massage parlors (of all types!), bars, shopping, etc. The beach is perhaps 8-9 minutes away on foot. The staff was very friendly and professional.

Center of Pattay beach, short walk to the beach, a mile to then end of the beach either way. Parking was easy. Food was very good. Pool was excellent! If we go back, it will be tough to beat.

I was rather disappointed with our stay at Somerset. We expected a 5 star hotel as per their ratings but the stay was no where near a 5 star hotel stay.

- Our rooms were not serviced even though we asked for it to be serviced daily. We would leave the room for our activities around 9ish/10am in the morning. Come back around 4pm and room wasn’t cleaned. We’d call down for the room to be cleaned and leave for a few hours and come back around 6pm and they were in the middle of it.
- The towels provided were thin and the seams were ripping. I get they're trying to be eco friendly but seriously it just felt kind icky. Please get new towels for your guests and stop reusing these noticeably old towels
- Our amenities in the bathrooms were not refilled. I.e. - cotton swabs, toothbrushes or laundry detergent. It was a good thing they clean so late - I would run out of the room and ask for the things I need each day.

For the amount of money this place cost - which was more than what I paid for an actual 5 star resort in Bangkok. I truly expected a much more comfortable stay and exceptional service. I would say the service is average. The stay was meh. The location was fine. But I likely will venture to a different hotel if I find myself in pattaya again.

Only downside. Athough non smoking hotel, could smell cigarette smoke when on balcony from some Indians obviously smoking in rooms.

Pros:

Absolutely great stay at Somerset. It was my second time and was just as pleased as the first time. Location is perfect for me as it’s centrally located and within walking distance to just about anything you want or need. Cleanliness was phenomenal and it’s quiet enough even though I was surrounded by venues playing music. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
