My stay at the Holman Riverfront Hotel was outstanding from start to finish. My request for valet parking was handled very, very well, which set the tone right away. The front desk staff was extremely professional and genuinely enjoyable to work with. The room was spotless, and the hotel itself is perfectly located. And let’s not forget the restaurant—the food was excellent and the service was amazing. Overall, a very impressive property, and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

The front desk was short staffed to the point where they couldn’t take breaks without leaving the desk coverage to someone who couldn’t check folks in. It is poor management and stressful for staff, in addition to being poor customer service.

Pros:

All the equipment felt new, and we really liked the vinyl floors instead of the usual dusty carpets. Our room also had a nice covered balcony.

Cons:

The only minor inconvenience, was that there was no chair in the room, we ended up sitting on the bed.

Nice modern property, just not the best stay or night's sleep
Pros:

We arrived late at night and found street parking just across the street. Accessing this property is annoying for the fact there is no good spot to unload your belongings (no entryway drive, portico, etc.) It’s a very downtown property. And with that comes noise. I had a room facing the courtyard (624) but could still hear cars and trucks. My coworker also noted the noise and could not stand the style of the bed as he hit his shin multiple times. There are earplugs provided which I utilized.
The annoying factor is they have the AC units set to not allow them to go lower than 68. The unit is likely very efficient, however, as a paying guest I’d like to have the ability to lower the thermostat to my comfort. I had to contact front desk. They were trying to find the special VIP override code in the work instruction binder and never could find it. I was informed they tried to contact their manager, but it was after 9pm at night and they didn’t receive information back. The clerk offered to come up to the room and do the override by memory. The whole thing was odd and made me wonder if they were just putting me off, hoping I wouldn’t call back and inquire again 45 minutes later after initially reaching out. Regardless, she came up and did the override and the AC did get lower. But this is all completely unnecessary if they would not put a hard stop at certain temperatures.
The room itself was modern and the bedding was really nice. There was a loud sound similar to popping coming from the bathroom. I didn’t report it. It sounded like the shower door mechanism was trying to adjust? Or perhaps the shower floor insert? Or something in the inner workings of the hotel? I don’t know, but that was more annoying the car noise.
This place may have nice bedding, but it just wasn’t for me. My coworker was disappointed they didn’t even offer coffee in the lobby before the breakfast restaurant opened at 6am.

Quiet rooms, we had a really good sleep. Very comfortable beds and pillows. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Cons:

The prices are inflated, and it's not always clear how much you'll pay in the end. The room description mentioned a microwave, but there wasn't one. The bathroom door is just a wooden screen with huge holes on the sides—not exactly privacy-friendly.
