Pros:

Our stay could have been much better if the property had been maintained and cleaned more properly. Unfortunately, there was a persistent dump-like smell in the corridors and even inside the rooms. We were also unsure about the condition of the air conditioning system, as every time we turned it on, all of us started sneezing, which made us wonder whether it was properly cleaned or properly maintained.

The rooms themselves could have been cleaned more thoroughly. One of the main reasons we chose DoubleTree by Hilton was because we expected it to meet the hygienic standards we experienced at Novotel New Delhi Aerocity in Delhi. Unfortunately, this property did not meet those expectations.

We also did not feel comfortable dining in the restaurant area. The first time we went there, we were given dirty cutlery,plate and were seated at tables that had not been cleaned, which made the dining experience quite unpleasant.

Considering the price, the experience was disappointing. We paid €268 for two nights, plus an additional €55 for early check-in, which felt quite expensive for the level of cleanliness and maintenance we encountered.

On a positive note, the warm cookies offered at the reception a signature touch of DoubleTree by Hilton were lovely, especially in the morning. That was one of the few highlights of the stay.

Overall, the property has potential, but better housekeeping, maintenance, and attention to hygiene would significantly improve the guest experience.

Top, aanrader!
Pros:

De fijne kamer en de vriendelijkheid van al het personeel. De pool en het lekkere ontbijtbuffet en s' avonds het buffet. Het personeel daar is erg aardig.
Voor ons in het bijzonder de vrouwen Deepa, Champa, Suman en Roma. Maar ook de chefkok en restaurantmanager. We kregen zelfs een afscheidstaartje met bedankje😊. Zo attent en bijzonder aardig. Namaste🙏. Zie ook bijgevoegde foto's. De housekeeping deed het werk ook goed! Fooi met wandelstok (weten vast iemand voor wie die handig of nuttig is) achtergelaten op de kamer😉.
Voor ons was de ligging prima. Met Uber (taxi of tuktuk) ben je in circa 25 minuten in het drukke, oude centrum. Aan het eind van de middag lekker weer op een rustige plek met fijn zwembad (ook voor baantjes zwemmen) of gym.

Cons:

Eigenlijk niets. Wat wel opviel is de deuropening van de douchcabine. Deze gaat naar binnen open ipv naar buiten. Een dik(ker) iemand kan dan amper of zeer moeilijk naar binnen

Deepa and Champa in the restaurant were very caring and friendly and helped my parents.

Cons:

There is no phone in the toilet. Most hotels have a telephone connection in the bathroom. It’s required especially when senior citizens are traveling alone.

Pros:

The property is clean, well maintained and well located for getting round Varanasi. The staff especially Ms A Sarkar in guest services was exceptional and made sure our family had everything we needed for a pleasant stay.

Cons:

Breakfast can be a bit chaotic when it’s busy so advise going earlier rather than later.
