Marala Hotel

This is a boutique resort that is highly cared for, modern, clean and serviced by some of the best hospitality staff in the business. A huge shout out to Tina at the front desk, she went over and beyond for us and made our stay super enjoyable. Brian, the world’s best waiter also deserves a shout out. The food, atmosphere, drinks, rooms are just all 5 star. The Infiniti pool with gorgeous ocean and beach views is a huge plus. Highly recommend this resort.

Wonderful hotel and staff!! This hotel was recommended to us by the tour we were taking and was a great experience. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The pool area was a highlight and beautiful place to take in the sunset. Also great to have a good restaurant on site.
Only drawback was the noise from the road, but everything else made up for that. Would go back for sure!!

5 Stars!! We stayed at Marala Hotel during our week in Costa Rica, and it truly became the perfect home base for our trip. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and we felt taken care of from the moment we arrived. Tina was especially amazing — she helped arrange excursions for us after a couple of our original plans fell through, and it made such a difference in keeping our trip smooth and enjoyable.
The food at the hotel is delicious, and the drinks were just as good. All of the bartenders are amazing!!! Our room was spotless, had great A/C, and was a comfortable retreat after long, active days. The views around the property were an added bonus — peaceful, beautiful, and exactly what we needed.
Marala had the perfect balance of liveliness and quiet, giving us a relaxing atmosphere. We are truly grateful we had the chance to stay here and would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

What a great place! The bed & pillow were comfortable and the room was very clean. ALL the staff were amazing. They were all very friendly & attentive. Bryan, Kate & Jackson all went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The view (especially the sunset) was stunning! The food was great, too. We saw monkeys hanging around the trees on the property. We are definitely coming back to stay again. Five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Awesome experience, excellent attention to detail, the whole experience is so peaceful and personalized. The staff is great! Tina made us feel like more than guests, she made us feel like true friends.

Then the serving staff is just so accommodating, Brayan, Jeff and the girl from the bar listened to my cocktail inventions and my bar stories.

Would most definitely recommend even a quick visit to eat or an extended stay.

This hotel is conveniently situated and such a beautiful place! The customer service is outstanding! The hotel manager Tina is amazing! She is a beautiful friend with a warm and caring heart! Thank you to Alfonso for the care and attention! The staff: Bryan, Kathleen, Shalim, Jeffferson and Maria are just a few of the wonderful staff! The chefs and kitchen staff create such beautiful meals! Fabulous food and delicious drinks! Even the maintenance staff came to our rescue! The owner, Aamel, was so welcoming and has set such an amazing high standard of service and attention to detail with his staff! We highly recommend this fabulous hotel and hope we will return again one day! Thank you for your hospitality and including us in your family/friend environment!

Me and my friend (jessica godoy) stayed this past weekend and were met with the sweetest team but one of the team members definitely stood out to me. Receptionist Tina, was so so so sweet, warm and welcoming. If i had any complications with rides, room service or wanted to reserve any activities she was on it!! Very gracious and she helped make sure I felt as relaxed as can be. Thank you so much Tina for happily helping me when things weren’t working out for me and keeping me positive!!

Y con mi amiga (jessica godoy) estuvimos en el hotel este fin de semana que pasó y nos encontramos con un equipo muy muy amable pero había una empleada que me llamó la atención. Recepcionista Tina fue tan dulce, y cariñosa con nosotras. Si tenía complicaciones con viajes, el cuarto o quería hacer reservas para actividades en el hotel ella estaba ahí para todo!! We’d like to congratulate Aamel and his team on offering an outstanding Costa Rica hotel experience for really exceptional value! We’d especially like to thank Tina, who moved us to a new upgraded room when #3 had a plumbing issue; bartender/mixologist extraordinare Bryan, who mixes an amazing old fashioned, Chef Rosa for her delicious menus, and the whole team for their wonderful service.

We had some great days at the Marala Hotel. The hotel, room and pool is beautiful and we could see some monkeys and parrots. The restaurant including the breakfast was amazing and the staff is very nice and helpful. We would especially like to thank Tina for her engagement!

This Hotel is perfect in every way. Location is perfect. Easy drive to all you would have time to see.

We are Costa Rica residents and we love to explore. We chose Esterillos this time and from the moment we arrived at Hotel Marala, we were treated to excellent service and hospitality. Tina at Reception offered us a lovely room overlooking the ocean. She helped us get settled and showed us around the facility. Shalim at the pool bar created wonderful cocktails and later served us our evening meal. We ate every meal at hotel…something we rarely do. From Breakfast (Avocado Toast!!!) to snacks (stuffed portobello mushrooms) to lunch (hand breaded Mahi Mahi) to dinner (Shrimp Scampi), everything was exquisite. Jefferson, our second server was awesome too. In the evenings we enjoyed the upstairs patio with friends. It was lovely experience.

We had a fantastic experience at Marala Hotel in Sept 2025. Tina was extremely kind and helpful and provided us a beautiful room overlooking the ocean. Bartenders Shaylis and Brian made us delicious drinks at the pool, helped us practice our Spanish, and made us feel at home in this stunning place. Highly recommend this hotel for the pool, food, drinks, setting and hospitality!

Beautiful, clean, friendly staff, great food and drinks. So relaxing after exploring Corcovado, I felt like the cat that was sleeping snugly on the chair at the reception.

We had a warm welcome from Tina upon arrival. We had booked for 3 nights, for our last days in Costa Rica, with the intention to relax in style. Overall the hotel is quite noisy, because it is located close to a busy road with sometimes very noisy trucks. At the main pool there is constantly music and on the Sunday there was a birthday party that was very noisy too. The good thing is that there is another pool at the bungalows that is a lot more quiet. Our room was nice and spacious, but also noisy because it was located above the kitchen and restaurant. The ocean view was good but the view also included a not well maintained roof. We still had a good stay, but for this budget we expected a little more.

Everything is great at Marala Very friendly staff and very helpful Aamel (the owner Bring us around) Tina (very helpful, welcoming, polite and accommodating) Jefferson, Rayan, Chalim, Kathrin, Rose, Masiel, Christina, Yahona, Bilma, Karin, Alfonso all of them are great and make our stay fantastic at Marala Great breakfast and great Lunch and dinner a big thanks to the chef

Hotel was amazing. Great food, room, pool and exceptional service! The entire staff was friendly, attentive and more than accommodating. We are definitely planning to stay there again for more days next time.
