Absolutely stunning building on a beautiful property. The hosts were all very friendly, kind, and helpful, not to mention speak several languages fluently. Suzanna is also available as a tour guide if needed so be sure to ask! We absolutely loved our 16 day stay here and recommend it to everyone that we know!

I have lived in Costa Rica and stayed in several places but this one is really unique .
Beyond the beauty of the site , the whole lodge is stylish and elegant . It is quiet and relaxing and the service is outstanding.

I can’t express enough how much I enjoyed my stay here. Besides the hotel being absolutely beautiful, I was blown away by how incredibly welcoming and accommodating the staff were. Breakfast was amazing every day, and they offered to cook me dinner every night as well. I could go on and on about it, but I will just say that you should absolutely stay here if you go to CR! The only thing I could see as an issue for some people is that the rooms are not air conditioned, so just be aware of that ahead of time.

Comfortable bed, clean, excellent customer service. Beautiful property on the hill. Breathtaking view of sunset. Fresh, organic breakfast. I wish I could stay there more.

Staff was god sent. They stayed open late for us as we arrived after 10pm and since all nearby food options were already closed, they made us a meal from the kitchen! Not to mention the property and its ambiance was lovely. Definitely coming back, thank you!

This was our first trip to CR the lodge itself is secluded & quite with a great view of the mountains surrounding the area. I loved the breeze coming through the windows. The pool view was beautiful. They offered laundry service onsite and had it back in our room the next day. Breakfast is offered 7-10am with a variety of fresh fruits, crepes and lots of other options. Keep in mind this lodge does not have AC I did not mind at all the room stayed pretty cool & the fan provided enough airflow. I would recommend this place if you’re wanting to stay near the airport SJO it wasn’t too far about 25 minutes. From La Fortuna it is a 3:30 hour drive. To Jaco it’s about 2:30 hour drive. Downtown San Jose had great dining options. Monteverde is also 3:30 hour drive. We visited all these places within our 5 night stay.

This was my 1st visit to Costa Rica, staying at this beautiful property made the beginning of my trip unforgettable! EVERYTHING about this place was perfect!! I will definitely be back!!!

Relaxing and terrific. The mattress was a little too firm for my comfort, but that says more about us than the lodge. The staff are incredible and the ambiance is gorgeous

The host was amazing! She was very accommodating and made us feel so welcomed. The room was gorgeous and complimentary breakfast was delicious! The rest of the staff was amazing as well! Would love to come back!

Beautiful oasis in the city. The rooms are spacious, beds comfortable and it has a lovely open air terrace where you can enjoy your breakfast in the shade. From the 2nd floor there is a stunning view of San Jose. The excellent pool is a very attractive focal point for the outdoor area and it has lounges where you can stretch out in the sun. It is a 20-30 minute drive from the airport but it was not a problem to arrange transportation. The owner was wonderful - can’t thank her enough for her hospitality and help!

Love the design of this beautiful hotel. It is located on a hilltop and has a grand view of San Jose. Rooms are spacious and bed and pillow comfortable. It is a real treat to breakfast just outside our main floor room near the gorgeous pool while enjoying the view of the lovely grounds. The owner is so wonderful - we especially appreciated the help she provided to us in getting back a phone we had dropped in our taxi from the airport!! It is a 20-30 minute drive from the airport but well worth it to arrive at this oasis. The taxi from the airport was easy to arrange and the rental car company brought our car to the hotel.

Our week-long stay at Canal Grande Lodge was delightful. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous and a pleasure to interact with, especially Gustavo. We will definitely stay there again on our next trip to Costa Rica.

The owner and staff here was amazing! This was hidden beautifully quiet stay. They are very welcoming and accommodating. The view was beautiful and the atmosphere is wonderful and relaxing. The bed was a bit on the harder side but would still go back and recommend.
